A couple beers come to mind from some recent(ish) experience:

La Cumbre's excellent Elevated IPA was the highlight of summer, in beer form. Can't wait to pass through New Mexico again.

Three Floyd's Zombie Dust lived up to and exceeded every expectation I had.

Anchor Steam's Zymaster Series #3, their Flying Cloud Import Stout, seemed to me to raise the bar on the style. I seriously hope they make it a regular.

Finally, although it's still too soon to tell, ever since I had Almanac's Biere de Chocolat I haven't been able to get it out of my mind. I've been a fan of Almanac's premise (and promise) since their inception but this is the first brew of theirs where it all came together, and then some.

DFH 90 Min, just because it was one of the first crazy IPAs I had. Heady Topper, because I was expecting to be totally let down...I was floored at how amazing it actually was. Founder's Breakfast Stout, St Bernardus Abt 12, Lagunitas Sucks, Nugget Nectar. I'll say Heady is the best beer I've ever had, with there being a bottleneck of Hill Farmstead beers behind that.

Really REALLY good quads always take me by surprise. Pannepot floored me, even though I knew it was going to be great.
