You know, I was completely against the idea so I poured my first Heady into a glass. It was good, but wasn't "all that" as I expected. The second one I decided to do it out of the can. WOW! Big difference. Not only that you're not disappointed that the paleness, you can really feel the hops and flavor so much stronger out of the can. It was the complete opposite experience I had with the Sculpin IPA so that definitely counts for something.

Narragansett Summer Ale. Very good out of the can. Very happy with the intro of the 12 oz can this year.

I really enjoy Daisy Cutter from the can and well as Big Eye and Sculpin, but the drink that's made the biggest difference in flavor was actually Strongbow Cider. I'm getting more and more into them and i noticed that on draft and in the bottle Strongbow tastes like flat champagne, but in those big 16.9oz cans its so delicious. ...Ill still take the canned beer over canned cider any day though.

Sixpoint Righteous and Bengali Tiger are better out of the can than poured into a glass. Both are pretty underwhelming, maybe that's why. Bought a case of each at the same time before ever trying either. Drinking a Bengali Tiger right now, following a Great Lakes Rye of the Tiger. Kinda tastes like weaksauce, whereas ROTT is killer, even a month past the best by date. Win some lose some. I've got a Hoptimum on deck.

You're just as delusional as the people who think that a container benefits the flavor of beer. The impact that a can has on beer is very minimal and its all in everyone's head. I drink straight from the can frequently and there's really not much difference.

Yes there is a difference. Pouring beer allows you to smell it, and aroma does affect flavor. Also, your mouth actually touches the aluminum when you drink out of the can, and yes it is bothersome to me. Let's not even get into how potentially filthy the top of a can is, cause that's a separate issue.

Never better from the can the aromas just won't come out. I had a craft can picnic and took plastic beakers which is pretty bleak but its preferable to a mouthful of metal.

Also, love how like 60% of these (non-Heady) references are to Chicagoland breweries. Represent.

Right after I posted that last night, I noticed that what I said wasn't completely true because aroma definitely does affect how you perceive certain flavors.

I'm not even gonna argue with your other points to avoid unneccessary nonsense.

Heady does not taste better from a can IMHO. From a can you don't get the aroma. That is a huge part of what makes Heady wonderful.

Pretty much all canned stuff. Canned beer is better than bottled beer for drinking straight out of the can. Must be the increased airflow of something. I have a sixer of Two Bros Sidekick in the fridge and I had it out of the can right after having it out of a glass. The can won handily.

It's fine in a glass, but it just loses something. I don't know what it is, and I don't think it should really make a difference, but it seems to to me. Out of the can its the perfect summer beer. If you really think it's nasty out of a glass, then you're sure to hate it out of the can too, I'm sure. We just have different opinions of it. No big deal.

I thought anything from Surly in cans were fine drinking from cans. Along with the obligatory Heady.

Aroma has a lot to do with taste.

The human tongue can only detect 4 basic taste sensations. Sweet, Sour, Bitter & Salty, plus a 5th sensation called Umami that is stimulated by MSG. All other taste is a result of the Sense of Smell.
