Trying to help a friend out, his fiance is out there on business (from IL) and he asked what beers she should bring home. He likes IPA's/Pale Ales for the most part but sometimes branches out to amber/white/wit/wheats. I know last trip she brought some Shorts Dans Pink Shirt and some Odd Side Citra. I think she'll be shopping at Liquor Cabinet in St Josephs. Any recs? Also, is there anything limited out right now? He owes me probably $20 in beer (maybe more, maybe less, not sure) and he said she can bring me something back too. I drink everything.

Short's Alien Einstein should be hitting shelves soon if not already there.

The Livery is just across the bridge in Benton Harbor and has bottles of BA Trippel Weizenbock still. Top rated of its style...

Not to mention they always have a sour or two on tap.

I believe it's $25 for a 750ml bottle....and they also have Barrel Aged Maillot Jaune for $18/750ml, which is a wine barrel aged sour biere de garde. Tasty stuff!

Illinois gets such good distro that you probably want to confine yourself to beers from Michigan breweries that don't get any distro outside of Michigan. That means Short's (anything from them) and Tapistry (their Reactor IPA is very good) for two suggestions. And maybe OddSides and Brewery Vivant have stuff here that does not get to Illinois? (I think both breweries already have some distro to IL, but maybe not, in which case anything from them is good.)

Vivant definitely has distro to Illinois, but not sure if it's their full lineup. OddSide, I'm not so sure that gets distributed here. I don't think I've ever noticed it, but I could definitely be wrong.
