Tyranena Scurvy is delicious. Maybe the best IPA from Wisconsin.
I watched this one and can't believe what they did. It looked really good after the "makeover". I would be surprised if it succeeded except for the Bar Rescue publicity that might extend its life.
Heh don't have any of those left atm, but I'm planning on rebrewing both early this year.
Yes, and they also release barrel aged versions.
Thanks for the ideas guys have a good night. cheers
Granted, you mentioned that it is your opinion but really? "Piraat....was pretty terrible?" I just had a bottle tonight that I had cellared for more than 2 years and I looked back at my rating of 4.55....I would not change a thing! The label mentions that it is "A Tripel by Strength but in IPA by history" so I guess that it is considered a Tripel IPA. To me it it more of a straight "Tripel" and it is excellent. Great sweet malt, the welcome burn of alcohol. I think that it is really great....just my opinion.
Yes, this was my favorite of the Heavy Seas offerings (out of 7 that I tasted and rated):
Heavy Seas - Hang Ten (Weizen Doppelbock)
I would try this...FINALLY something other than Bourbon barrel aging, nothing wrong w/that but damn, beat it in to the ground some more why don't ya.
Gulden Spoor (Golden Spur) A small brewery I visited in Belgium.
The barrels used started as Jack Daniels barrels in 1982, then we're shipped to Appleton Estate to age rum for 23 years.
Captain Hooks IPA from Port Allen ,HI

This is due in mid-march. Prairie does have a distro deal with Shelton Brothers and I know a bunch of their stuff just went to the Boston area.
Heavy Seas beers are all pretty much pirate themed. And their Loose cannon is great.
BrewDog's Old World IPA has a pirate ship on it's label.
Don De Dieu has a cool ship on it.
