I think everyone who is really into craft remembers a having a beer, that upon enjoying it for the first time, left a huge impression on them. It was an experience that you'll never forget and you can recall everything about that beer.

Are there any beers that you wish you could experience for the first time again? To get that "rush" of excitement at what you had just tasted and how mind-blowing it was?

For me, it would have to be Oro de Calabaza. It's not the greatest beer I've ever had, but I remember the first time I had it, it left a huge impression on me. I hadn't ever had a "sour" beer and didn't realize beers could have that sort of flavor. I've had it many times since, and while I still enjoy it, I don't get the same experience. I've also had many other (and much better) sours since, but none seem to surprise my palate like that beer did, maybe because it was the first sour beer I'd ever had.

Fulton's War & Peace. I'm sure it's because I've changed, but the first time I had it on draft, it was truly the perfect blend of coffee & stout. Crazy smooth and delicious. I still buy it, still like it. But somehow, it's just not as good as that first time.

Heady Topper. I was not impressed the first time I had it. Maybe I had a bad can. I have been trying to get some ever sense.

Back when I was a noobie, my brother who lives in Florida sent me some Cigar City Brewing beers for Christmas. I will never forget the feeling I had after my first sip of Marshal Zukovs IMP Stout. I just kept thinking how the fuck did they make this?. Blew my mind.

    Cheers!

Bell's Two Hearted Ale...I was on a fishing trip with buddies and after a long cold day on trout water (White River in Arkansas), had been back at the cabin for a few hours, fish cleaned, bellies full and a nice hot shower. I sit down on an outside deck with my first THA and as I drank it, watched the sun set through the woods...I had a wonderful day on the water and enjoyed a gorgeous sunset with one of the best beers I had ever tasted...to this day it is still one of my favorite beers...remembering the moment vividly as if it was yesterday.

Hopslam...it was so groundbreaking at the time but I didn't have the craft background to understand exactly what I was tasting

My first fantome was so unlike anything I ever had that I instantly became obsessed. I still have trouble passing them up. All bottles are unique, but that first one was insane.

Old Rasputin. Had it on tap before I was really into craft beer, and it was the first RIS I'd had. Completely moved the needle on what beer can be. Still love it.

None for me. Beers aren't like movies, they leave a greater impact the better you know what to expect. When I drink a great beer the second one is almost always better than the first because I notice more of its complexity.

I'd love to try Lagunitas Hairy Eyeball on draft for the first time again. I was a craft noob at the time and that beer blew me away. Tasted hoppy to (times have changed, ha). Loved it. I still enjoy it, but my senses perceive it quite differently these days. That initial sip was a game changer for me in the world of beer.

I would love to have Thomas Hardy's blow my mind again. It was powerful yet elegant, complex yet pure, and nuanced in countless ways. It was the first beer I gladly spent the $$ on, and even saved certain vintages of.

About 8 years ago, within about a two-week time period, I had Dogfish Head 60 Minute, Founders Centennial, and Dogfish Head 90 Minute. I had been dabbling in craft beer for years, but these just blew me away and made me a total hop head. With the exception of Centennial, I don't even drink them that often anymore (did DH change their recipes?) but I'd love to recreate that experience.
