Batch 9000 was retired and Batch 10,000 was the last in the series. Don't expect to see any of the Batch bottles again.

The point is that other retailers that are getting it are selling four packs for $25 or so. So yeah, $40/ 4 pack is a pretty substantial markup. The comparative value between the two products is pretty irrelevant man. That's like saying it wouldn't be gouging to charge $12 for monk's cafe since Russian river sours sell for similar amounts (despite other retailers and MSRP being ~$3 ).

I was dreaming of BA Batch 9000 since they magically put Blacknote in 12 oz bottles after re-releasing 750ml bottles.

    I know it's wishful thinking.

I compared the same exact beer in two different formats. You compared shit beer to outstanding beer.

Not really seeing the similarities there.

Bell's, Founders, Goose Island, Hoppin' Frog (just to name a few).... yea, the midwest definitely owns when it comes to stouts.

Errr, what? Same beer, same cost per ounce as the original 750's.

I guess its no skin off my ass whether you really think you're getting screwed or not. I'm sure, even at these "unfathomable" prices, they will fly off the shelves with or without your blessing.

The point is "better" does not equal "good".
Just because a situation has improved, doesn't mean you should just be happy with it and something isn't wrong. Hence, the analogy.

No way, man. Not with this chaffing problem that I've been dealing with lately.

My mistake. I thought you were comparing the BCBCS prices to black note (since you quoted my post and those were the bombers / 12 oz quoted).

But what you seem to be ignoring was the original point. Most other stores are selling the same exact product (12 oz, black note) and making a profit at ~6.50-8.00. When a store wants to squeeze an extra few bucks out of me when they have something limited I'm less likely to buy other non-limited stuff from them.

Entirely agree, but I was just pointing out that it's a very similar price per ounce to what the brewery itself originally charged for he same beer. Even at that price, I wouldn't be outraged, but if some people are, so be it.

I mean, I still paid it so I wouldn't say I'm outraged. It's not like other retailers in the area who were selling (and getting) $42 / bomber for BCBCS. I was just surprised to see it that much more (by percentage) in a particular shop.

Is it true that Bells and Chicago's distributor for Bells got into a fight over allocations and there is no BN coming to chicago now?
