Bell's Black Note (2013)

Sorry, meant to say it was "abnormally" hanging out on a shelf after it was released. This was purchased at Forest Hills Foods in GR which is a normal grocery store...affiliated with Spartan I believe.

 

But not recently I guess. Not a big deal. I'll be preoccupied with my Founders visit. Also planning on visiting Perrin's for some Malted Milk Ball Stout. Then hightailing it back to Detroit to watch my Spartans on TV!

 

:thumbup...I grabbed a growler of that Malted Milk Ball Stout the last time I was in that neck of the woods. That place has good food as well.

I'm sure the two were in NO WAY connected... hahaha

 

Ha, would probably get knocked on the head if I said it was better but Perrin's Malted Milk Ball Porter is in the same tier as BCBS, Black Note, and KBS. IMO. Their Hopwood is fantastic as well.

 

Hopwood different than stoutwood?

 

So every time I see that a new post has been made in this thread, I get excited that there's finally some news about Black Note 2014. You guys are killing me.

 

Hopwood is a pale ale I believe aged in new white oak barrels.
Stoutwood is the same but I felt it wasn't that great.

I stopped by a local shop the other day. Was chatting about the KBS release. To my surprise he mentioned something about Black Note. If I recall correctly he mentioned it being prepared to be shipped to distributor or something along those lines. How long they hold onto it there is anyone's guess.

 

I think you misunderstood. He didn't mean "just" referring to a unit of time.

florida got some last year...it came and went in a day probably, but total wine was selling it for 24.99 a 4 pack...limit 1 pp.

 

Is there any specific date to try and plan for? I would like to avoid calling or visiting everyday.

 

I doubt it. The last time it came out we got a tweet that it had arrived so then you get in your car and start driving like a _ucking mad man because it won't last long.

 

Holy shit. If a beer is left over after people have waited in line, before the store opens, then it is sitting on the shelf. I bought my two four backs of black note, at separate times, late at night at one grocery store and one party store. There was no one waiting in line for it. Thus it was sitting on the shelf. Not yesterday, not the day before, not last month. I bought it last year during the week or two after it was released from distro. My rather nonchalant remark was in reference to the fact that it wasn't like I had to chase trucks (KBS, ETc) to find it.
