Agreed. I live nin Kzoo as well and KBS wasn't to hard to find (Bottle or draft). Bourbon County on the other hand was a bi%&h to track down.

Hopwood is an Imperial IPA aged in new white American oak barrels.

Perrin is killing it! Black Goat, Rye Wine, Wood Aged 1885 Kona, Rye of the Liger, etc. are all bomb!

 

Went there yesterday & literally tried everything. Perrin is fantastic & while I wasn't a fan of the copper series I loved most everything else

 

Yeah they are doing big things! They have a sour and a PVW barrel aged Imp Stout in the works too!!!

Best beer coming out of GR at the moment IMO!

Really missing the boat on lack of bottle/can distro though. I know they've run into some issues but the place was packed last time I was in. Even if they're having liquidity issues, you think they'd be able to find some investment....

 

I agree! Always packed when I go in there. They sold their bottling line to Kuhnhenn but they are still supposed to start canning sometime soon here.

What 2014 blacknote is out?

 

This seems impossible. ive called every store i goto here IN MICHIGAN(like 10) and noone has heard anything about it from their distributors...

 

Not only that but ive talked to several BA's and beer mangers at store and they have stated that this beer is aged for a little over a year, like 14 months give or take. This is the reason it is not out yet. it doesnt come out in the same month every year. it was released this time last year. so it wont be out for a month or so(also give or take).

 

I'd be leary about saying those are 2014. Double check the date on the bottle. I've heard of stuff like KBS sitting around on a warm shelf for a year. Maybe they're just left overs. I know it sounds nuts, but if it gets sent to some gas station in BFE and nobody ever thinks to look for it....it's possible.

 

It's fake. If Black Note does come out this year will it will say "2013" just like when last years batch came out in Jan 2013 they said 2012 on the bottle.
