3 liter bottle of Black Note up for charity auction:
What auction? That's freaking HOTT!
I think it's coinciding with an event they are hosting at the brewery tonight. Their Facebook page said other goodies on the block include 2001 Cherry Stout and a 6-pack of 19-freaking-95 Expedition Stout!
They are going for about seven dollars a bottle.
The guy next to me only had a guy with him, so if that is your "girlfriend", it won't be that big of news, shit happens like that. Yeah, I did have a load, and , yeah, I WAS the first in the door, but let my two BUDS go first, and then secured their purchases into my vehicle, 'Merica Babeeeeee !
They are talking about Black Note, not BCBS.
Is Black Note still at the general store?
3 liter Black Note being auctioned off this weekend, along with other vintage beer:
Yep, I'll be there this Saturday.
Anyone want to trade some Black Note for some BA Blackout?
My buddy went last night, said he got us the last 2 cases on the pallet and only a 4-pack was left in the General Store.
Not sure if they have another pallet or not.
Very much ISO. Is there any official list of what states are getting it?
Drinking pretty doggone good. This is for me, the smoothest and easiest-drinking of any of the bigger BA stouts that i have tried so far.
If anyone in the GR area is still looking for this, Riverside Liquors still has some in stock. 4 packs for $25.99.
I picked up some at Bell's - What do you have to trade??
$23.99 @ Bell's....a few bucks higher at stores.
Or a lot higher at stores :S Usually these places don't gouge that bad so I'm not sure what the deal is with this one ( just had coffee for 19.99 and now black note @ 9.99 / 12 oz... )
So $10/12oz is gouging, yet $23/25.4oz is fine? Almost the exact same price as the 750's and you get to split up the experience. I see no reason to complain.
Got any rare 3F's you want to trade for some?
Did you find some or still want to trade?
You would have been really well off in Soviet East Germany.
Well, at least they aren't the Nazi's, can't really complain...
Batch 9000 was retired and Batch 10,000 was the last in the series. Don't expect to see any of the Batch bottles again.
The point is that other retailers that are getting it are selling four packs for $25 or so. So yeah, $40/ 4 pack is a pretty substantial markup. The comparative value between the two products is pretty irrelevant man. That's like saying it wouldn't be gouging to charge $12 for monk's cafe since Russian river sours sell for similar amounts (despite other retailers and MSRP being ~$3 ).
So 8-10 bucks a bottle? And a crap show to chase to chase down at that. Ill just wait for it on tap again. It serms to be somewhere every two weeks here in Minnesota. Dont get me wrong, if I see it ill grab some, done chasing...
I was dreaming of BA Batch 9000 since they magically put Blacknote in 12 oz bottles after re-releasing 750ml bottles.
I know it's wishful thinking.
I swore i saw 11, 000 on the back of this on goes to 11...
I compared the same exact beer in two different formats. You compared shit beer to outstanding beer.
Not really seeing the similarities there.
It does say 11,000.
Bell's, Founders, Goose Island, Hoppin' Frog (just to name a few).... yea, the midwest definitely owns when it comes to stouts.
Errr, what? Same beer, same cost per ounce as the original 750's.
I guess its no skin off my ass whether you really think you're getting screwed or not. I'm sure, even at these "unfathomable" prices, they will fly off the shelves with or without your blessing.
The point is "better" does not equal "good".
Just because a situation has improved, doesn't mean you should just be happy with it and something isn't wrong. Hence, the analogy.
No, no you didn't.
Apparently you just want this forum to be a circle jerk.
Bell's is offically out...
she was in the car with the two dogs.. if i remember correctly though the first guys at the door were only there for hopslam.. and the guy who got the load was actually in line after me.. but went in before me because he was at the front of the line talking people into buying him more. not that i care because i even held the door for his wife to go in before me.
but yea we clearly must not of went the same day. haha
No way, man. Not with this chaffing problem that I've been dealing with lately.
My mistake. I thought you were comparing the BCBCS prices to black note (since you quoted my post and those were the bombers / 12 oz quoted).
But what you seem to be ignoring was the original point. Most other stores are selling the same exact product (12 oz, black note) and making a profit at ~6.50-8.00. When a store wants to squeeze an extra few bucks out of me when they have something limited I'm less likely to buy other non-limited stuff from them.
Entirely agree, but I was just pointing out that it's a very similar price per ounce to what the brewery itself originally charged for he same beer. Even at that price, I wouldn't be outraged, but if some people are, so be it.
I mean, I still paid it so I wouldn't say I'm outraged. It's not like other retailers in the area who were selling (and getting) $42 / bomber for BCBCS. I was just surprised to see it that much more (by percentage) in a particular shop.
Is it true that Bells and Chicago's distributor for Bells got into a fight over allocations and there is no BN coming to chicago now?
