Apologies if this has been mentioned before in the past. Any idea if Bourbon Barrel Aged Batch 9000 is a one and done, or if they plan to continue making it? This came out in bottles late October of '12, and kegs around this time last year. It's one of my favorites, would love to see it again.

One and done according to Laura. With that said, you'll find it on tap still here or there.

Lol, how would they make it again? It is the barrel aged version of batch 9000.

Good point, the recipe must have gone up in flames when 3 floyds burned down. As the kids say, Lulz.

Especially because the batch that was put in barrels was a rebrew

Andy, there are no plans at this time to rebrew.

Damn shame about that. That is easily one of the best barrel aged beers I have ever had.

BA version of a one off beer. That being said, it needs to be made again, like Stone did with RuinTen.

At a recent Bells tap takeover I asked the Bells rep. that very question and he said never again. I bet he gets that question a lot.

And he'll keep getting that question until he gives the right answer.

I heard this same story while drinking a Founder's Cashew Mtn Brown (which is going to be the next back stage release)

Talking to a guy at the General Store about special tappings of this stuff and he said they saved kegs when it was brewed and then when they want to barrel aged it they stick it in barrels for the same amount of time the original BA Batch 9000 was. I feel very lucky to have had 2 glasses of the stuff and am kicking myself for not paying attention when it was available in bottles. One of the best beers I'll ever have.

LOL, I asked the same at Ashleys Westland Bells tap takeover, and he told me the same..Also said that there was not much more left and would only be brought out on special occasions..

I must be the only person who doesn't get a mad stiffy for BB9K. I mean, it's good, but I'd order BB Cherry Stout, Black Note, BA Expo (hell, even regular Expo), etc. over it any day.

Bells and founders are going to soap. Cashew Mtn brown/bab9k blend, I heard this while speaking to Alexander graham
Haha wishful zero % chance prediction.

Its a definite candidate for the best glass of beer I had in 2013

That would be awfully ballsy of them to bottle a cashew beer (which would have a very short shelf life), especially with how long Founders Backstage Series beers usually sit on the shelf.

    EDIT: Very good beer though!

You are correct sir. I have had all that you mentioned a few times and BA9K topped them for me. The only one I would question is maybe Blacknote which I love.

This...I like bbb9k a LOT, but why we can't have access to a bottle treatment of BA Expo is an enduring mystery. Phenomenal beer, with great aging potential

I am with you on this one. I bypassed several pours of BB9k in favor of BA Cherry while both were on tap. BA Expo would easily win out as well. Black Note and BA9K is where things start to even out for me.
