Granted I see two hearted bottles everywhere and cans seldom, but is there a taste difference? I see ISO: posts for the cans only... Trying to understand the reason. Educate me!

    Cheers!

Well, for one you can take cans to places where you can't take bottles, such as pool/lake/beach.

Right of the bat I can tell you the cans are 16oz and bottles are 12oz. So there's that.

More likely people prefer the cans because they better protect the contents. Better seal, no light gets through, etc.

    With pleasure!

Canned beer has several advantages. From a taste/stability perspective:

    · Cans are impervious to air (oxygen) unlike bottles where air (oxygen) can ingress through the cap liner. Canned beers will resist oxidation ‘better’ since no new air (oxygen) gets in.

    · Cans are impervious to light therefore zero chance of skunking

Cans also have other benefits like being a lighter weight package which decreases shipping expenses (less fuel used to transport them).

I am sure that others will chime in with their thoughts.

    Cheers!

A lot of people prefer cans. I always buy cans over bottles when given the choice, unless I'm cellaring it, they keep the beer fresher and are more portable.

I think IPAs in cans taste better. Totally changed my mind about Sculpin. Went from a good IPA to a great IPA.

Certain hoppy beers ‘fall off a cliff’ with respect to their hop flavor/aroma profiles with age (i.e., hop fade due to oxidation). IMO, Sculpin is one of those beers. Canning Sculpin is a real benefit since cans are impervious to air (oxygen).

    Cheers!

I've had it in bottles and in cans and now I only buy it in cans. Quite frankly it seems to taste better from the can than the bottle. And, shockingly, I prefer the canned Two Hearted to draft Two Hearted. I'm not an expert on style so more knowledgeable people can chime in with better feedback for you.

Hoppy beers taste better if fresh. It could very well be that you are obtaining canned Two Hearted that is fresher than the draft product. Some folks assume that draft beer is always fresh but that is not always the case. I have had more than one pint of Sculpin that was less than stellar due to it being too old.

I just read today the below post concerning Alpine beer:

The Alpine that arrived in VT was over 6 months old and brewed by green flash. It tasted exactly like you described. The whole bar was disappointed. The Alpine I had at the Alpine brewery was absolutely amazing.”

It is a damn shame when bars are serving draft product that is over 6 months old. There is something seriously wrong with the distribution system of Green Flash/Alpine.

    Cheers!

Two Hearted is really tasty and pint cans are a lot of fun. I'm not sure what there is to miss here.

I don't know, I quickly used the search function and I didn't find much in regards to Bell's 2HA cans vs. bottles. Now granted, I didn't look too hard because I am short on time. I'm sure there have been many debates here of cans vs. bottles, but probably not many that targeted a specific brand of beer. I also notice the OP joined BA on Monday. I guess you can either help the guy, or bash on his post so he doesn't come back. Everyone starts somewhere...

On a side note, Bells has 12oz glass bottles and 16oz. cans, and then they said they are going to do 12oz cans too. Do they intend on marketing all 3? Maybe I will use the search function when I get to work and see what I can find.

I live in a bottle deposit state and cans are so much lighter to lug back to the redemption center.

When faced with clay containers for wine, many ancients stayed loyal to goat bladders. We are now blessed with options, but cans are superior. My brother in law sells glass and disagrees. Bud Light from a bottle is way better than a Bud Light from a can! Grrrrrr

What is a modern beer advocate? Actually, ancient beer advocates seem way smarter.
