I will be headed to Las Vegas for a Bachelor party in less than 2 weeks. The problem is, only a few people in the party enjoy craft beer, and I doubt any would be willing to trek long distances for a quality pint.

What does everyone think are the best beer bars on the strip (we will be staying at the Mirage)?

Right across the street at The Venetian you have Rattlecan and Public House. Rattlecan has a good selection, reasonable prices and excellent burgers. Public House has a very good selection.

Just a head's up, Rattlecan is no longer open.

To the OP, if you do a search for "Vegas" in this forum and go to the "Places" section here on BA you will find dozens of answers to your question. Have fun in Vegas!

Wow, closed already? That sucks, I was there in December. Public House is a good option.

Yeah, Rattlecan was only open a few months. The talk is that it may possibly find a new location in the future.

Yup Public House has a pretty good beer list, although the prices can be a bit on the high side even for the Strip.

Who owns the bars and restaurants in the casinos, the casinos or other owners?

I'm not sure what the situation is at the Venetian, but usually it seems to be a mix between the hotel/casino owning some restaurants and others being owned and operated by outside parties. Lately it seems more often the restaurants are owned by outsiders and just lease the space from the hotels.

Same thing with the clubs at the hotels. In the past they were often owned and operated by the hotels but now just about all of them are run by outside groups.

Bars 99% of the time are owned and ran by the casino/hotel. Nightclubs/dayclubs are almost never owned or ran by the hotel/casino for legal purposes they are lease agreements ( very complicated ones).

Rattlecan closure is rumored to be an overhaul of the FB program by the Sands corp who owns and operates the Venetian/palazzo. They supposedly are giving a space to Batali and a possible return to Vegas for Daniel Boulud.
