What are some of those hidden gems that you would "rank" up there with the best of the best? A beer that doesn't get the recognition of a KtG or PtE, but you believe is just as good. My nomination is...

    Epic Big Bad Baptist

I've had this beer several times now, and everytime it amazes me. I can't get enough. Easily one of the best Imperial Stout's I've ever had. What say you?

Harpoon Leviathan Imperial IPA. The thing is though, it's fucking Harpoon! Everybody knows them, it's very widely available, but I never see anyone talking about it. I think it hangs up there with the best IIPAs. Unfortunately though, it's one of the few awesome IIPAs not available to me in Cali :slight_frown:

I'll agree w/ Big Bad Baptist, not sure why it doesn't get more love. I had it on a tap a few times and finally found bottles a while back (maybe two months) and grabbed a few figuring they'd disappear in no time. Still some around...

I'll throw one out there... Rockmill Tripel..
It's the best tripel I've had that was brewed here in the states, the Monks would approve..

    Must I go on?!?

Sweetwater's Exodus Porter is fantastic, and no one mentions it with the top tier porters out there.

Oh man, I've been crushing the 77 lately! Also, Interurban is great, but we can't seem to get fresh bottles this way. :slight_frown:. If I find it on tap, I put it in me.

PS: I will be in Seattle for the summer (July/August), BM me and we can grab a beer.

Fremont Cowiche Canyon Fresh Hop is a really good reason to live in Seattle.
Another standout IPA I had recently was Driftwood Fat Tug from Victoria, BC, I rank it with any IPA I've had from Alpine or Russian River.
I've also been on the lookout for Humulo Nimbus (harrymel's pick above), looking forward to finding one of those soon.
So thankful our local breweries don't try to spread themselves too thin...

Pensacola Bay Brewery's Lighthouse Porter is phenomenal!

Props to their Banyan Brown Ale and their Sawgrass Wheat beers as well!

Check em out if come across them.

I have a bottle I picked up when I was at my parents house for the recent holidays in NE OH. I really can not wait for that beer. I am obsessed with Tripels. I also got their Dubbel. I will probably be picking up the rest of their stuff next time(the Saison and Wit). I have heard great things about Rockmill

A couple of months ago I would have said anything from Boneyard but apperently the word is getting out. I agree with the love for Fremont and Sound (Humulus Nimbus). I would also add Caldera's old growth imperial stout. That beer always flies under the radar and is a fantastic representation of the style IMO.

Although they're getting more recognition, I'll say Drake's. They make some amazing beers, and people should be seeking them out more than they are.

Several of their beers would get my vote, their 1500 pale ale should be the new standard, Hopocalypse is one of the best DIPAs when it's fresh, and Drakonic is an underrated imp stout. And their taproom one-offs and limited stuff like Aroma Coma and Hopocalypse Black Label are excellent.

Coop F5. Look for this to make waves when (IF!!!) it finally gets canned. Well known around these parts but since it is draft only it hasn't reached far at all. Here's hoping they actually date these cans when (IF!!!) it finally gets bottled.
