May not be the best, but since your probably going up 295, Geary's Beverages is a good stop off. Good variety and the best price points. Be sure to check dates.

In NH I'd hit, The Beer Store in Nashua, Bert's Better Beers in Hooksett, and Bards Beer Emporium in Concord!

Tully's is excellent. I've yet to check out the Good Beer Store in Fryeburg, but I've heard good things. In Portland, RSVP, Downeast Beverage and Maine Brewing Supply are all excellent choices and the local Whole Foods has an impressive selection.

I think he meant Gary's in Portsmouth.

We stopped in for the first time after getting KtG tickets on Sunday and have added Gary's to our list of beer shops we hit regularly in the area. Good selection but definitely the lowest prices I've seen around here.

I thought about Gary's, but Portsmouth is 45 miles from I-295 so I don't get that bit. Oh well.

Tom's is good (I stop there often), but there's really nothing unique there other than lambics. I think he does have more lambics than any other place I've seen, and sometimes off-season stuff....but I would not go out of my way to go there, unless seeking lambics.

I checked out Good Beer Store on a recent trip through there. It's great for the area....soooo much better than anything else in town. But they did not have anything I couldn't get at RSVP, and their prices were notably higher on many (although not all) bottles. Some of them a buck, some 5 bucks more. It does seem like a place that, in 2-4 years, will have lots of old bottles that are long-ago sold out elsewhere.

If you need to stock up, don't overlook Market Basket supermarkets. At least near Keene, they have a decent selection, and 12-packs of Smuttynose for $9.99!, the last few times I was there!

Dover Discount Beverage is pretty good. Some people were hating on it, but the prices are really really good and they have as good of a selection of new hampshire's legislators will permit.

What part of Maine are you going to be in? A couple of nice mentions so far. I see uncle Toms is mentioned that neck of the woods you might want to check out Bootleggers in Thopsham as well as Bow street market in Freeport.

I would also have to agree with toasterchef on his assesment of good places in Portland to get beer.

Also not talked about much is Florian's in Auburn if you are happening to be in that neck of the woods.
