If you consider Samuel Smiths products, which come in 1pt. 2.7 fl oz bottles, "bombers", I pay 3.50 for a bottle here in Ohio, which is a very great deal IMO. What are the best deals out there for bombers?
  2. AlaskanYoung

    AlaskanYoung Dec 1, 2011 Arkansas

Ive paid as low as $2.50-3, as high as $35

Highest paid for 12oz was $110

Whenever I hear best price and bomber I think: oxymoron.

Hop Stoopid @ 5 is generally a *fair* price to me.

Those Samuel Smith bombers youre are talking about are 5 bucks here and like you said they arent really bombers. Very hard to find a bomber of good beer around here for 5 bucks or less. You can always go with SNPA or SN Torpedo bombers I guess because they are like 3-4 bucks. Theres some other decent stuff in the 6-7 dollar range. Long Trail bombers are 3.49 but their 6 packs are pretty cheap so a bomber of that is pointless.

    Lagunitas' prices are quite reasonable.

Hop Stoopid, Arrogant Bastard, Stone IRS, Stone Smoked Porter.... all good beers that are very reasonably priced.

Considering how great Duvel is and that it travels half way across the world and I pay around $10 for it; a deal in my book.

Bears Republic have $5 bombers. Racer 5 and Hop Rye Rod. Some others as well. Weihenstephaner's Hefeweissbier and Dunkel are $4 or less.

Depends where you live because I had a bomber of Bear Republic Red Rocket Ale and it was more than 5 bucks. 6.49 I think.

When I first got into craft beer I could get Hop Stupid for $ 4.99. Now due to what I assume is popularity or greedy store owners, I can't find it for less than $6.99-$7.99.

Sammy Smith is good. obviously the TJs vintage ale is another good buy. to be honest i really don't like bombers & large format. not just because brewers & retailers f us on the pricing but just as much because 12oz. is enough of a "single" serving for me. around my pad some shh gets "aged" just on default for the simple fact i'm not busting open 22 oz of a barley wine that's been bourbon barrel rested without some sort of contingency plan in place. unless i have someone to share it with, it's gonna sit til i'm prepared to deal with it to its conclusion.

As per my 'walking into a liquor store with $6.80 post last night' ... I would say Hop Stoopid, Lagunitas IPA, Lagunitas Maximus and Firestone Union Jack - all were under $6. Throw Big Eye by Ballast point in there too (I think).

Lagunitas, Stone, Sierra Nevada and Samuel Smiths are all pretty reasonable. Living in Asheville I can also get Highland and French Broad bombers just about anywhere for ~4 bucks

    another vote for lagunitas
even a good deal on a bomber is still a bad deal.
a 4$ bomber of lagunitas still equals a 13$ six pack

I've never seen a good bomber price relative to a single/sixer price. Best would have to be Lagunitas.

Stone has many of their brews like Arrogant, IPA, etc. for around $5 for 22 oz. bottles. Bear Republic is also around the $5 range with Racer 5, Hop Rod Rye, etc.. Epic's Spiral Jetty IPA is also around this price. Just look around. You'll find them gems.

Such a great beer at a great price. I always bring them to tastings as an extra throw in. Makes a good palate cleanser to break up the sweetness and roastiness of a big stout lineup. Non-Philly folks usually say "Wow, this is only $3.50? Where can I get some?"

Lagunitas ($4.49), SNPA ($2.99) already mentioned, also SN North & Southern Hemisphere (under $5) and Lakefront is pretty reasonable as well at $5. Their new My Turn: Chad was really good and 12.5% ABV! Will f you up!
