There seem to be a lot more beers recently with "breakfast" in the title. I honestly can't ever think of a time I have had beer at breakfast. Anyone have some suggestions?

Not a fan of stouts. I'll take a Daisy Cutter or Centennial IPA any morning

Barrel-Aged Stout with French Toast and Maple Syrup and bacon. I've only done this a few times, but it is delicious!

New Glarus fruit beers are amazing
    - Raspberry Tart
    - Belgian Red (hard to find now)
    - Serendipity

Otherwise if you are talking about beers with the word breakfast in them, it's hard to beat the trio from Founders.

I've had FBS in the morning and it's hit or miss. It's not an easy beer to drink on an empty stomach for multiple reasons: incredibly viscous, slightly bitter, and intoxicating to say the least. It goes great with a full breakfast but if it comes before day drinking Guinness or an ESB hit the spot.

The coffee combines well with the chocolate and oatmeal malts. My .02 after just finishing one.

This thread cannot go on any longer without the mention of Beer Geek Brunch Weasel. It has accompanied several of my weekend breakfasts/brew mornings.

For me it depends on the season. In the Summer, I can sit outside and enjoy nice IPA like Sacred Cow as soon as I wake up. In the Winter I prefer Siberian Night or Old Rasputin. Not coffee beers by any means, But they just fit with the weather.

I have a weak stomach in the morning, and I really try to steer clear of drinking before say 2 pm. But if its summer and there is a festival going on, I have very rarely been known to day drink. If i was going to morning drink I wouldn't be able to have a straight beer. I know Chelada is gross and all, but would it be gross if it was homade. Say a crisp pilsner like bitburger, mixed with v8?

Oatmeal stouts. FBS and Wake and Bake have both been mentioned. I will add BORIS and Ten Fidy to the discussion, because, well... it's Ten Fidy.

I guess you've never tailgated, gone fishing, played golf been on vacation as all of those activities lend themselves to breakfast beer.

My choice is Cricket Hill's Jersey Summer Breakfast Ale

Breakfast beer? Founders does a great job with their brews, but for the ultimate breakfast beer? get some Surly Coffee Bender. Since it has been canned it is my breakfast every fishing opener. Good thing I'm not driving the boat.

Santa Fe imperial java stout! Even though it says "not with donuts" on the can. I had some for breakfast last July, and it was delicious (of course I was sitting by a camp fire in the Rocky Mountains).

Until about 1890, beer was the preferred morning drink in most of America - I saw that fact somewhere on the internets. So- lately I have enjoyed pouring fresh coffee into SN Narwhal for the second cup of the morning, but I do enjoy a good IPA mixed mimosa style with OJ from time to time.
