Hello everyone! I am interested in brewing my own beer, but I am not sure on which home brewing kit I should purchase. Do any of you have any experince with Northern Brewer's essential brewing starter kit? Feel free to suggest any kits or methods that you think would benefit a beginner like myself. Much appreciated!

I you're not in a huge rush, Midwest Supplies offers a similar kit via Groupon that includes a recipe kit and coupon for a future recipe. They seem to offer it every few months. Otherwise, that kit looks great. As with most beginner kits there are some parts that you'll want to swap out/upgrade over time, but that one should work just fine.

Yes. I added the gravity testing kit to the order. Also bought a glass carboy from my LHBS so I did not have to pay shipping. After 9 months with many batches the only other things I have needed were supplies. More starsan etc...

Sure. I did this kit because it also came with a nice extract kit which is worth about $30 on its own.
The Caribou Slobber is a forgiving beer you can do to get your feet wet.

My advice spend more right off the bat. either go with small 1 gallon setup or go big.
at least a 10 gallon pot, and an outdoor propane burner setup, with some serious BTU output!

To each his own, but I waited for years and I knew I wanted all grain brewing right from the get go. multiple yeasts. also bottles are a pain in the but. Go keg. just my 2cents.
