Hi. I don't exactly know if threads like this are tolerable by the community but I did a search to make sure. I might be going out on a limb, but has anyone been to the Capitol Market in Salem right near Willamette University? Wondering what rarer Oregon, if any, brewers they stock there? Stuff from Boneyard, special Deschutes stuff (Abyss?)? Thanks.

Any other beer store recommendations in this area encouraged too

You should find a bunch of PNW beers there and a good selection of internationals.
Its a good selection in a seedy store.
Nothing much else can match it in Salem.
But for fresher well kept but smaller selection try Lifesource Natural Grocer on S.Commercial.
I see a few Deschites rare stuff in Roths..a local grocery chain..but depends on location.
The one on South Salem on Liberty has Abyss for $16.99.
If your staying in Salem its a good idea to check out all the growler/taprooms around for the best Boneyard stuff!

THere are also a few local Breweries here.
Santiam Brewing are doing some awesome barrel aged stuff now.
Salem Ale Works..do good basic styles.
Vagabond also good ..best for entertainment..huge space.
The local McMenamins brewer also does some off the wall stuff.

You won't find Boneyard there... they don't package anything. However, you are likely to find RPM and/or Hop Venom on tap at one of the local taphouses (b2, Westside, 2 Sparky's, Growl Movement, or Venti's). All of those places post their taplists online, so you can check ahead of time.

As @Reidrover said, LifeSource has a smaller, yet very well curated selection. They still had bottles of Abyss as of a few days ago. $16.99, I believe. You'll also find de Garde Bu Weisse and Tableau Rouge there. Both worth picking up if you like wild/sour ales.

As for Capital Market, you'll find a good, large selection, but be careful of age. I would recommend staying away from anything without a bottle date. It's doubtful you'll find anything particularly rare though.

Probably the best bottle selection in Salem is now at the Liquor Outlet on South Commercial. They'll have some of the easier-to-get Logsdon, Upright, Commons, Breakside, de Garde, etc., plus some rarer stuff. I've seen Ale Apothecary bottles there, which I never thought I'd see in Salem. Things that sell out in hours in Portland tend to linger quite a bit longer down here. Liquor Outlet also has a 20 or 30 tap grolwer fill station, so you may also find Boneyard there.

Lastly, don't sleep on Barley Brown's Pallet Jack if you see it on tap. It was on at b2 yesterday, so it's around. Doubtful you'll see any of the BB DIPAs, but if you do, don't pass those up either.

Seems like all the Barley Brown's DIPAs (TankSlapper, Forklift, Head Shake) were in town about 3-4 weeks ago, but as far as I know, we've been dry since. Hopefully that's a problem that will be remedied in short order!

Aye..i also saw Boneyard Armored Fist a few weeks back but none since.
I guess with the tremendous growth of groweries/taphouses its hard to keep up production in Oregon
