Just visited for the last 3 1/2 weeks. My favorite canned beer from there was Mountain Goat Summer ale for sure.

I think the Modus Operandi crowlers have been blowing everything else out of the water - is a crowler allowed into this category?!

No luck finding the Van Dieman beers in Sydney; tried 3-4 places. Heading up to Modus in the next week, so shoot me a message with an order

Okay, you make a fair point. There are, of course, imports as well but - as good as they are - that is a bit unfair.

A contact of mine in Sydney has lined up a CANimal of each of the Zoo Feeder IPA and Former Tenant Red IPA - apparently both are sensational!

Not that much of a fan of Australian Brewery, funnily enough. I find them a bit formulaic and a bit flat. Just my personal opinion though

Don't mind Quiet Deeds Pale Ale, or for a real stinking hot day just a good ol' Carlton Mid.

When I was a bartender out in the Kimberley even actual gnat's piss tasted pleasant. It was like being slow cooked for six months.

Mornington IPA in cans is out and about in Victoria now, pretty damn good.

Is The Former Tenant by Modus Operandi really worth the $27.50 per can Beercartel are charging? Seems pretty ludicrous for a local beer.

No, of course it's not worth it. That crowler-bottleshop model is terrible. If you get it filled off tap you could get a whole growler for that price or less. It doesn't make any sense at all to buy those bottleshop crowlers, they will be less fresh too. It's a ridiculous concept, like $60 for 375mL bottles of standard Cantillons.

If you live in Sydney, wait until the next time it's on at Royal Albert Hotel and buy a crowler (950mL) straight off the tap for closer to $18.
