It's not a pure coffee beer, rather a blend of a milk stout & coffee porter

I had KBS. It was nice. I'm still on the hunt for Firestone's Parabajava. It was in my grasps, and I missed it.

I've recently had 4 Stouts, though only 3 of them can actually be called coffee Stouts: FBS, Bourbon County Coffee and AleSmith Speedway. FBS to me is still the best coffee Stout there is if you're looking for pure coffee flavour. The Bourbon County I was slightly let down by (though it's still a VERY good Imperial Stout) as I didn't think there was enough coffee flavour to it. I was even more let down by Speedway (again, similar to BC it was a very solid Imperial Stout) as that had very little coffee flavour in it.
The 4th Stout I've had is classified as a Dry Stout, Malka Keha from Israel, but that had ample coffee notes to it and was a pretty impressive Stout. Even one of my customers, whose a HUGE Stout guy (especially RIS) e-mailed me to let me know he was impressed with it. Only 6% ABV, it's not an Imperial, but well done for the style.

The best coffee stout I've had in recent time is Lakefront Brewery's Fuel Cafe Coffee Stout. Made with real espresso beans makes this beer as attractive as Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman. jks

Just had it last Friday. Super cool beer. Not my favorite coffee beer, but definitely the most "coffee forward" beer I have ever had.

As always, de garde is pushing the envelope

Depends how recent, if in the past 1 hour it was Imperial Hyper Dog from Pipeworks. So much coffee it needs creamer.

I already answered but I have had another really good brew since: Stone Espresso IRS. Highly recommend. Oh - and Speedway Stout is really good, too.

Meantime Coffee Porter is worth a try.

Stone Espresso RIS & Imperial Biscotti Break were both damn good. IBB has a lot more going on in it then coffee though.

Best that I've had LATELY would be boulevards smokestack series coffee ale. Had it last night, towards the end of its life but nice and spicy character and subtle coffee flavor.

Alpine Koffee Sutra. Like drinking cold brew coffee. 6% american brown with virtually zero malt presence. All coffee. And.....all gone :slight_frown:. They need to rebrew but I think they're gonna up the malt, which I'm not so sure if I'm ok with. I'll probably still drink it.

I had Kopi Speedway, BA Speedway and BA Kopi Speedway all in the space of about half an hour.
I seriously don't even know what to say.
Each was significantly better than any other coffee beer i can remember ever having.

Though two guys who have each had many more beers than me including those above have told me that the Victory at Sea day last year had some unbelievable things (treatments of VaS). I wonder if they'll do it again this year.

But for easier to come by stuff i have to say Coffee Bender and Jahva are fucking awesome. My up North buddies tell me Cacao Bender is the shit too... but it's DONG, i think.

Peche Mortel, Terrapin Wake N Bake, Epic's Big Bad Baptist, of course FBS, Southern Tier Mokah (a beautiful beer that caused me much anguish when I heard it was being discontinued), Surly Coffee Bender, BCBCS, Funky Buddha's MBCP, Santa Fe's Java Stout...just a few of my favorites within the category.
