At a local place called Common Roots: Coffee cup, an imperial coffee stout. Very tasty.
Central Waters Peruvian Morning. Wish they could bottle this one.. looks like their 2012, 2013, and 2014 batches had a QC issue.
Great SoCal coffee beers: Beachwood Mocha Machine, Pizza Port Bacon & Eggs & Drip Tide. Java Deluxe from Ritual is also worth mentioning. I hear Griffith J. Griffith from Highland Park is amazing, but haven't had the chance to try yet.
I had Maui Doppel Shot Double Bock the other night and that is now on my list of favorites.
Champion Ground. That stuff is incredible.
I'll second this one! Had a bottle on Saturday. Perfect after a big serving of beef stew.
Stone 2013 Espresso IRS had 2 months ago
Drake's 2014 Jolly Rodger Imperial Stout with Blue Bottle Coffee I had a month or so ago.
The last two aren't the coffee bombs they once were and have aged into much better and smoother cohesive gems IMHO.
Mother Earth(NC) Silent Night. Imperial stout brewed with coffee, molasses and barrel aged.
Ballast Point Calm Before the Storm
Many words have been spilt by many on Xocoveza, but "Calm Before the Storm" was a total surprise enjoyment.
Cream ale w/ coffee and vanilla? Sure. I'll try that even though I'm almost endlessly disappointed by vanilla-added beers and always want coffee beers to taste more like coffee. Cream Ales when done best are actually magnificent, but the only great Cream Ales I've had were homebrews.
Anyway, the Calm was ideal for the early part of a day of drinking (just after coffee and just before the ensuing madness).
That sounds fantastic.
Big Bad Baptist
Specifically release #55 with Cultivar Coffee from Dallas. It was really coffee forward to the point some people thought it overwhelmed the barrel. I personally thought it was delicious.
Brash Brewing, Abide (white Russian milkstout) is outstanding.
Funny I see this thread.
I had a Tree House Single Shot coffee milk stout in a tall boy can last night. It was borderline amazing. Captured the coffee perfectly and the milk stout aspect gave it the perfect feel. 6.4%. Couldn't believe how much flavor was in it.
Fremont Bourbon Barrel Aged Dark Star Coffee Edition. Incredible stuff!
Ulster Breakfast Stout, I'm not claiming to be #1 in category, but it sure is surprisingly tasty. Brewery near Lake Erie. Supposed to be releasing a barrel aged version soon. ISO
Last couple I've had that I thoroughly enjoyed.....
Ballast Point's Victory at Sea and Stone's Dayman coffee IPA.
Tie between Winter Grind by Mother's Brewing Co. and Obligatory Pumpkin by Rock Bridge Brewing Co. on a recent trip to MO/KS.
Common Root's Coffee Cup.
Four Barrel Coffee Sessions by Cellarmaker. One of the best I've ever had.
Sunday Morning Stout. So underrated
Community Ascension coffee porter and Zilker brewing coffee milk stout, some good texas coffee beers.
Clown Shoes - Breakfast Exorcism was incredible
Prairie BOMB! A lot more adjuncts than just coffee, but so good.
Kasteel Chocolate Quad
Founders Breakfast Stout
Oakshire Overcast Espresso Stout
Hopworks 7 Grain Survival Stout
Fort George Java the Hop (coffee ipa)
JAFB Columbian Coffee Porter
Coffee infused beers are a favorite of mine, so many great ones.
Had a Berkshire Brewing Coffee House Porter at the Pats game on Monday, it was really good.
Just had my first Big Bad Baptist - #56 - huge coffee notes and taste, a little boozy on the back end. Excellent!
This years Breakfast Stout has been my favorite in years
Id say best coffee beer lately would have to be because of both the glavour and bizzar way of making. Mikkeller beergeek weasels brunch. It is a very amazing flavour that makes me taste both the coffee and beer flavours and like them both. On top of that it got it's name because they get the coffee bean from a weasels excrement. Thats right. It eats the coffee leaves some in its droppings and then it is used with added flavour in beer .
Absolutely agree! And I'd add:
Clown Shoes Breakfast Exorcism-amazing and very limited availability (unfortunately).
Two I have on-deck to try: Victory Java Cask & AleSmith Hawaiian Speedway.
Hawaiian Speedway & Parabajava. Stupid good.
Which brewery? Probably meant Founders, but there are many other breweries with Breakfast Stouts.
Clown Shoes Breakfast Exorsism, brewed with my friends' coffee!
Burial - Skillet Donut is pretty f'ing good. Good Morning was really good too but I know I won't be trying it again any time soon.
Left Field Bricks and Mortar Coffee Porter. When arguably the best coffee roasters in Toronto are located in the same building as your brewery, you better make a great coffee beer. Left Field does, and I'm happy to see that looks to be a part of the regular rotation now.
I'm willing to bet the suckers that paid $20+/bottle of BCBCS are going to say that/
big bad baptist #59
Tree House Double Shot Burundi Buckeye...
