I've seen a lot of these hitting shelves recently including the Ommegang and Boulevard sets. Which ones in you're opinion are worth the 20-25 bucks. Trying to figure out some gift ideas for some friends.
is that a new glass in the ommegang packs or the same as last years? If its new I'd pick up a pack for the glass.
Chimay, Bernardus, Duvel, Petrus, Kwak, there are a lot of them out there. I snagged 2 Lindemans gift sets last year for $6 each which was a steal. Always need new glassware!
Chimay gift set for $16 Samuel Smith pack for $9 is a steal IMO. Duvel for $11 Haven't seen too many other gift sets yet other than hard liquor.
It is a little to rich for my blood. I'm more interested in the glassware anyway. It boils down to I would rather have 1 case of backwoods bastard rather than 1 westy brick.
The chimay is always good. I picked up a la trappe gift set last week that I ended up loving. Comes with a gorgeous glass.
I loved the ommegang gift pack at the $21.99 price but I've been seeing it for $27.99 this year which isn't quite as attractive.
Just picked up the St. Bernardus sampler four pack and glass for a cool $22. Really a steal because they had a four pack of Abt 12 for $20. I think I picked a good time to get into Belgians...
It's 2014 and figured to dust this post off again. Everyone I know loves the Ommegang glass. Its the best and most versatile and well rounded / anytime beer glass out there IMO. Absolutely HATE my Chimay challis. Looks nice, but beer drinking experience out of it is just subpar on many levels.
