1.) Lawson's SOS
2.) Trillium Upper Case
3.) HFB Abner
DIPA - Hop JuJu
IPA - Constantly changing, but Columbus Brewing Company's IPA is pretty damn fantastic.
Other Half All Green Everything
Hill Farmstead Ephraim
Trillium Double Dry-hopped Congress Street
Tree House Green
TG King Sue
Trillium UPPER CASE
Alchemist Heady Topper
Cigar City Oak Aged
Silly question based upon a particular taste/moment.
At times I'd say Heady but others I really love Perpetual. Taste is subjective is it not?
DIPA: tie between Russian River Pliny and Fat Head's Hop Juju
IPA: another tie between Bell's Two Hearted and Alpine Nelson
Hmmmm, Gandhi Bot, Heady Topper, Fuzzy Baby Ducks, Flower Power, Sip of Sunshine (just had it this weekend Wow!). Sculpin, Lunch, Sea Hag....too many great ones
Forgot to put Lagunitas Sucks
There is no absolute favorite here-- all great, but for different reasons (which one of your kids do you like the best?).
Sip of Sunshine
Recently had Dirt Wolf for the first time and definitely have to add it to my list!
Abner is probably my favorite DIPA/IPA of all time.
Kern river double citra, planet, hop stopped, sucks, the calling
Damn spell check! Pliney #2, hop stoopid #3
I'm in agreement with a lot of people here. For me standing out in no order, green flash, peak organic, sn torpedo, and harpoon to name a few.
Lagunitas Hop Stoopid
Stone Enjoy By
Pikes Peak Elephant Rock
Just some off the top of my head.
Tried Hop Hunter for the first time today and it was really good so that might become a 12 pack purchase every now and again and being that Enjoy By is made in 6 packs that is going to be a regular too.
All Green Everything
My preference (no order - but does not include the 'whales'):
Hop Crisis - 21st Amendment (this is my all-time favorite beer, regardless of style, but happens to be in the category of IPA/DIPA)
Molotov Lite - Evil Twin
Chillwave - Great Lakes
Hopslam - Bell's (yep, I still love this beer despite all of the negative reaction in the craft beer community)
Seeking Alpha - Captain Lawrence
Burton Baton - Dogfish Head (fresh is the best!)
RuinTen - Stone
Tribute - 14th Star
Hop Juju and Abrasive are excellent choices in the DIPA category.
Head Hunter and Furious are a nice pair for IPA.
Need to try some Hill Farmstead, Alchemist, and Tree House stuff, but that best that I've ever had in no particular order;
Founders Harvest Ale pre '13 when it was at 6.5% abv
My 2 favs as of today:
Todd the Axeman
I just had mbc another one yesterday solid ipa
DIPA: Pliny the Elder, Sip of Sunshine, and Tongue Tickles
IPA: Nelson, Annica, Grapefruit Scuplin
3F War Mullet.
I'm not a complete 3F acolyte but god this beer makes me want to believe.
DIPAs, in no particular order & off the top of my head:
Trillium Upper Case
Boneyard Hop Venom
Pliny the Elder
Pipeworks Crimson Snapper
Bells Two Hearted
Maine Beer Lunch
Evil Twin Molotov Lite
Boulevard The Calling
There are so many great IPA's and DIPA's out there I would love to see a lot of these people on BA do some blind taste testing to see what their actual favorites are.
I could drink Bodhi all day long...er maybe just 2 Pint servings. Such a great DIPA, I am one to say it's worthy of its High rating on this site. I just wished they would Can it.
Really impossible to answer. Changes on a constant basis. Just recently, spanning the last six months, I would go with:
SN Finest Kind
DIPA: Stone Enjoy By maybe? Palate Wrecker? Can't really get a lot of the regionally limited doubles like Double Sunshine, Heady Topper, etc. in SC easily.
IPA: Far and away Creature Comforts Tropicalia. The rest of the country is in for a serious treat when they start distributing beyond North Georgia. Even not perfectly fresh it's a notch or two above great beers like Sculpin or Two Hearted.
This best IPA lately has been Gangster Frog IPA
I love Surly Furious and if I had to choose a DIPA I'd probably say NG Scream IIPA, but I just had Abrasive for the first time last weekend and that was damn good as well.
1. The Alchemist - Heady Topper
2. Surly – Abrasive Ale
3. Toppling Goliath – Imperial Golden Nugget
4. Lagunita - Lagunita's Sucks
5. Victory - Dirt Wolf
6. Avery - Maharaja
7. Tyranena – Hop Whore
8. Karben4 – Fantasy Factory
16oz cans of Bodhi. That would be awesome. I agree, such a crushable beer.
This beer is one of my Fav beers and one ofmy fav by MBC i like it better than lunch, dinner is good but not worth the drive for one case limit, compared to vermonts offerings and the number of releases that can be caught in one day. Granted Bissell did release swish on the same weekend. Just havent had Beer 1 yet or lil One
Looks like some people think it is
