Figured I'd start this now that Sacred Profane seems fully up and running.

My wife and I went up there for a quick overnight this past weekend.

    Highlights:

Sacred Profane - Had their 2 beers and enjoyed both.
Took home a 12 pack of the Pale Lager. Didn't try food this time.
    Friendly staff, nice vibe.

Magnus on the Water - Had dinner and drinks.
Food was spectacular, no drafts but good selection of cans and bottles, cocktails were the highlight.
Just great service, price and staff, highly recommend.
Supposed to eat at the restaurant in the Lincoln Hotel, where we were staying, but it was maxed out by 8 PM
Probably a blessing in disguise as we had heard it was a shit show (1st night open to public) and their food was just OK.

Spinning Jenny - Coffee shop inside hotel but open to public. Had amazing bagels (Montreal style) and awesome pastries from Rover Bagel/ Little Spruce Baking.

Palace Diner - teeny classic diner, and heard food was amazing. Unfortunately, their ventilation hood died and they were just serving a few items. Had the browned butter banana bread and a cup of coffee (both great) and headed home.

What an awesome little city overall, will def be back!

Not in Biddeford proper, but Barreled Souls was only about a 5 minute drive from Sacred Profane.
The barrel-aged barlewyine and imperial stout I drank there were very good.

I'm doing a double duty of "work and fun" up in Biddeford tomorrow. The "work" part is a conversation -- sorry, nothing in depth yet from me -- but the "fun" part is a pint or two (okay, probably more likely two than one).

My question is: Beer stores. Madden Beverage is nearby in Saco. Is that my best bet? I figure I'd grab whatever is available at SP, but I thought stocking up for the holiday would be a solid move too. Maine stuff like Oxbow, Allagash that may not make it beyond the border, or stuff that only sees Maine distro. What does the BA collective have for me?

Envy, for one thing. (But also good vibes for a great day)

My store of choice south of Portland is Oak Hill Beverage but that is in Scarborough a bit north of your trip. Spruce Creek Provisions in Kittery was always clutch for its location just over the border, but RIP.

I suppose this means I go a 12-pack of Light and Dark, then pop into Tributary on my way south!

I'm curious about East Coast Outpost in Kittery. They are a cannabis store with craft beer and their stock list on Untapp'd is amazing.

Can you screenshot it? I don’t necessarily need to re-up on the weed front, but if the incentive is right…

Sorry, I think I was unclear, they sell beer as a package store. The list is 197 beers long

All Maine beers, lots of variety, several of my beloved Bissell Brothers brews, etc etc etc.

Not that you wouldn’t want 12 packs, but stores are also selling them in 4 packs of each, which I opted for only because I bought a lot of other beer.

Are the stores repackaging the 12 packs to create four-packs? How much are they charging per four-pack?

    Cheers!

    That’s what I assumed. I (over)paid $10 for each.

They’re excellent. My wife and I are both enjoying them. I got a chance in early October to visit Sacred Profane and knew they were worth purchasing.

    Good to hear!

It would seem that these beers 'survive' the packaging (i.e., canning) process well.

    Cheers to Sacred Profane! :beers:
