I haven't been able to get it in KY so far; I'm hoping I'll see 4-packs in shelves within the next couple of weeks. It seems logical (and smart) to put a beer like this in 4-packs.

I'm really looking forward to aging a couple of bottles of this year's Bigfoot.

I actually thought for years that it was crazy for this beer to be in 6 packs. Never complained, but given the way most barleywines are packaged these days it seemed almost out of line or something.

Just saw my first 4 pack. $9.99, seems reasonable. I think the 6 pack used to be around $15.00 at the same store. I think the $9.99 price point makes it seem like a better buy even if it's about the same price per ounce.

It should be 9.99 which means its literally, ounce for ounce, the same price as it was before.

60$ case when I bought it last year, 60$ case again/

I like the new format. Also, the 2013 seems to have much more going on then the 2012 did. I've had two so far. Probably going to pick up a case in the near future.

Bigfoot is a really good beer tho. I don't know if you noticed, but they switched from 6-packs to 4-packs.

Just picked up a couple of four packs tonight. They we're priced at $8.99 which I think is fairly reasonable since the sixers were selling for $11.99.

Sounds like you got ripped off if you bought a couple of 4 packs. You paid more per ounce for the 4 pack when the six pack was available for a better price.

that is so false. They were MSRP'd at 14.99. If you purchased it any cheaper then you got a great deal. They are, ounce for ounce, the same price.

    14.99/6 = 2.49 per beer
    9.99/4 = 2.49 per beer.

I can't wait to get my hands on some. I really need to age some but if I always go through 6 faster than I think then I'll need to buy a few 4 packs. I blaze through this beer.

I would buy that. Which store in Richmond? Maybe I need to go see my in-laws if I can't find that here at home.

I've still got 6 packs in my cellar going back to 2006 that I need to polish off first. :)

The new 4 pack setup and price sucks btw. I get it. I understand. But it still sucks.

I think there's an old thread where Sierranevadabill mentioned the transition to 4 packs as part of the Hoptimum/Narwhal lineup. That way, retailers have shelf space devoted to the SKU and the beers rotate. He also mentioned the brewery's intent to keep price per ounce the same, no "new 4pk for the old 6pk price" trickery. That thread may have been before the system overhaul, though.

Why, it'll be no different than aging last years or the year before that. How can someone look forward to waiting? That's like looking forward to...umm...err, waiting. Cray cray

The 4-packs just hit CT. One place is advertising 7.99 per pack. Last year, I think they were going for 10.99 or 9.99. This year's prices seems very reasonable.

I have no problem with 4-packs, in fact I wish all beers would go to 4-packs at the same price per bottle. But, I've never paid anything close to $14.99 for a 6-pack of Bigfoot. $13 was a very common street price, and MA is usually on the high end for everything. You can even poke around lots of sites online that still have the old 6-packs listed at as low as $12.

I just paid $9.49 for a 4-pack. I'm not complaining, it's still a fair price for the beer. But, as typically happens with the move from 6-packs to 4-packs, stores end up tacking on an extra .25-.50 or so per bottle, even if the brewer was well intentioned.

Yea it was uh $9.50 here in the Twin CIties area, last year it was like $13 or something for 6. So no biggy to me, still awesome and worth it. Not like when 3 Licker Ale went from 6 bottles at $10 to 4 bottles at $10...great beer but that made me scoff at it for awhile until I got off my high horse (mostly after I talked to the master brewer and he said the cost to make the beer had gone up quite a bit so to keep the same price point he had to do that).

Like most times when this switch from 6 to 4 occurs...the press release claims the consumer price will be lower, and yet it never ends up being the case somehow. Color me disappointed

    Because most people weren't paying 15 for a 6 pack. I know I wasn't.

Because most liquor stores are selling it for the same price as they were previously selling the 6 pack.

I've been buying SN Bigfoot for over 10 years and never paid more than $40 - $45 for a case, tops. The new 4 pack model jacks it up to nearly $60 a case.
