Ask the retailer if they will discount it since it has been on the shelves for a while. Especially if you would be willing to buy a full case. The worst thing they can say is no. I wouldn't pay full price for bigfoot now. Its stout season, too many other beers I need to save my money for... but then again if you don't like stouts, you may have some extra $.

Bigfoot is one of those beers where I buy a couple of 4 packs when it arrives and drink a couple and save a couple...then as I start to see it less and less on the shelves I start buying it when I see it.

Its good all the time so I just keep buying it without worries.

I'm not concerned about the age - just the the amount of light it's been exposed to. I should have been more clear about that in my original post.

I'm at place selling this in a clearance rack at 5.99 per 4-pack. Never had this beer (any year). I usually stay away from bigger beers, but this seems like a great deal. Wondering if I'm missing something.

I highly recommend it! It is a very drinkable Barleywine compared to some. Can't go wrong for 5.99!

Get it- I used to do the same thing around this time of year, but that store doesn't discount them any more. They were always a very enjoyable bargain.

Guess I'll take 8 of them home with me and try to ration them!

Bigfoot is a great beer! And that price is a lot cheaper than what I pay for it here. I would buy an impressive amount for that price, like lets see how much beer a Super Duty can haul! If you are into aging beer, it ages well too!

I could have walked out with about a dozen 4-packs, but two seemed about right, for now.

At that price I would have bought everything. I'm not greedy, but the other guy had his chance before the price dropped.

Please, please, please cellar one of those two four-packs. I'd honestly just drink three of them fresh and save the other five for the next five years, drinking one a year with a vertical of the following vintages. Bigfoot is awesome fresh for hopheads; seriously, it's one of the most bitter beers I've ever had. As great as I find it fresh, it's something magical with a year on it, and even better two years out. I can't speak to more than that since I haven't had any older than two years, but I'm sure someone else on BA can drop some knowledge.

Earlier this year I tried 2007 Bigfoot along with a 2014. Amazing how different they were. Both delicious in their own way. Definitely worth putting some away for several years.

bigfoot is a great barleywine I recommend tossing away multiple 4 packs, they age wonderfully and get superb around 5 years

Buy it all, Bigfoot is one of the few beers that I feel is better a bit old.
