I'm doing a full (almost full lol) tasting of founders brews that I have accumulated over the past year or so. What better way to enjoy them all then with some friends!

So I would like to include a Blushing Monk in my tasting here. What is it trading for, maybe a limited off the shelf....Firestone Walker, Lost Abbey, Bruery stuff, Russian River?

By the way how much was it when it was released?

If anyone has one that sees this and wants to help me out here, please speak up.

A small side note, I also would like a '10 Nemesis.

Thanks a ton guys/gals. This will be a very fun tasting especially since I am in CA.

I just traded my last one away about 6 weeks ago. It was part of a big trade so I do not know exactly what bottle it went for in this case. But if it helps I certainly would have traded it for some RR sours (esp if Beat was on the table). I picked my bottles up for around $18.

Thanks man. I'll through it out there for some RR sours and go over a bit on the $4$. I hope it gets done.

    Here it is:

    All Day x 4
    Backwoods Bastard x 2
    Breakfast Stout x 3 (1 '11 and 12's)
    CBS x 1
    Centennial x 2
    Cerise x 2
    Curmudgeon x 3 (1 '11 and 2 '12's)
    Curmudgeon's Better Half x 1
    Devil Dancer x 2
    Dirty Bastard x 2
    Double Trouble x 1 (I know it's "past it's prime")
    Frangelic Mountain Brown x 1
    Imperial Stout x 2
    KBS x 3 (1 '11 and 2 '12's)
    '09 Nemesis x 1
    Porter x 2
    Red's Rye x 2

So as you can see I would love to add a Blushing Monk and a '10 Nemesis.

So, I got two inquiries about this. One wanted a Black Tuesday and the other wanted a Chocolate Rain.
Am I crazy or is this Blushing Monk that sought after?
I would never have thought it would take either one of those to land a Blushing Monk. I was seriously thinking some RR sours, Cascade sours maybe some Lost Abbey stuff, or some Bruery "off the shelf" but not even close to BT or CR.

Am I crazy? Someone please set me straight.

Cascade, nicer lost abbeys, etc could land one. Black Tuesday much less CR seems a bit much. Jmo though

I think it stems from one thing. Founders had officially retired Blushing Monk a couple years back. They brought it back from retirement for the first release of their Backstage Series. Since it was previously retired, and since Founders has stated since that they won't be making it again, (but hey, it came out of retirement once..) it is trading like a "retired" Founders beer that has had a relatively limited bottle count.
    Hope this helps!

FYI: I traded one recently for an Otiose. However, I normally don't put a whole lot of weight into the .rar of the beers I trade. So that may not be an accurate representation of what it is traded for. However, I would never think to ask for a CR. That my friend, is a little crazy.

I feel like chocolate rain could pull 2 bottles of blushing monk to the right person.

A trading buddy of mine wanted a Blushing Monk in a hurry and offered me a Bramble. I gladly took him up on the exchange.

I sent him very nice extras. He wanted one and in a hurry; he had it in hand 2 days later from 2 states over. It was his offer, and I took him up on it -- so no. Plus I gave him tastes of Brandy Vanilla DL, Luscious, and Black Tuesday at DLD.
