Bottle shops in or around the State College area, or along I-80 westbound?

The Hopshop is the best bottle shop i've went to in state college. Most of the beer is refrigerated and they have a growler filling station. The only downside is the prices. seems to be $2 or $3 more expensive then Wegmans.

Zenos also has some interesting bottles for take-out, and their prices are similar if not a bit higher than the hopshop

Me too. It's my bachelor party. The Hopshop is new. I haven't seen it since I graduated in 2010. Sharkeys was my go-to in college but that was just for Miller and Natty. Pletchers is a good distributor out off North Atherton. Zenos is a good beer bar.

I was at the Hopshop on Monday while I was in SC for work. Nothing special, but I think they just got Enjoy By in yesterday. They didn't even have any Spring House Beers (besides Mango). Wegmans had a few bottles of SH Braaaiiins left. Similar selection, and slightly better prices as someone already said.

Pletchers is a must stop, Wegmans, Hopshop. Also Otto's Pub & Brewery is worth a growler fill or sampler.

    Cheers!

Definitely check out Otto's for 6-pack or growler if you're looking for some quality craft brews

Was just at Otto's for the first time a few weeks ago. Real good beer, the Slab Cabin IPA was terrific.

Slab is my favorite and go-to during my monthly trips to the brewery for dinner! If you catch it freshly kegged & tapped it's tough to beat IMO!!

No idea on Jolly Roger, but when I was at The Hop Shop on Saturday, they had six packs of the new Ottos - Night Owl Coffee Stout, 4.8%

Night Owl was good, but not great. I had it on nitro that night. I like my stouts, especially coffee stouts, with more body and alcohol.

They have 4 packs of Jolly roger available and bombers will be out later? That is great news if that is the case. I need to find someone close to State College and set up a swap! I check Wegman's every time I go in and they haven't had it in forever! It's one of my favorite beers to send as extras in trades.

Just wanted to bump this thread for anyone around state college who missed out on bourbon county, or who didnt want to pay $10/bottle at the hopshop; zenos bottleshop (the one on street-level college ave between the corner room and chumleys) has singles of bcbs and bcbbw for $6.50/each - only $.25 more per bottle than what i paid for the 4 packs

Heading up to State tomorrow for a wedding. Any chance of finding any Fat Heads? Or any recommendations aside from Otto's that isn't available in Philly?

Happy valley and robin hood brewing are worth checking out in addition to Otto's. The food at both places is also particularly good.

Thanks for the recs. I went to HopShop and was able to score Otto's Slab Cabin and Double D, and Spring House Shemonster mango IPA. Unfortunately, the Slab Cabin was super malty — must not have been fresh. But the others were good.

Tried to go to Zeno's bottle shop, but it didn't open until 5 pm on a Saturday.
