It would be pretty krunkin bodacious if a company that only does cans released beer in bombers
These aren't bombers... they are 11.2oz as opposed to 12oz.
Apparently I'm the only one that thinks it's strange that a canning brewery that makes all their product in American-sized cans (12oz and 16oz) would want to use bottles in European increments... especially a size so incrementally smaller than the size they're already using (and probably own significant can stock for).
Heck, they slap labels on their special release cans because they need to order such a significant amount of them that it doesn't make financial sense for them to order new cans for each of their releases.
Ooooh, yeah thats odd I doubt they would bother with anything but Bombers.
I heard this might be out on Thursday.. any truth to that? Not that my wallet needs it right now....
They are also going to start cork and caging their releases of Le Mort Vivant. So it makes sense to invest in a bottling line, I guess.
From the article:
"This new bottling system will allow Southern Star to package bourbon-barrel-aged versions of its Buried Hatchet stout in 11.2-ounce cans bottles. That will be followed next year, Hamm said, by cork-and-wire 750 ml bottles of Le Mort Vivant."
Blind Ambition this Thursday..
DQ tweeted they had it in
friend told me he's actually getting in Thursday.
any word on the distribution of this? Is it making it to SA/Austin?
Was just a "first look." Brandon said later this week when I tweeted him.
STOKED for 750 ml of Le Mort Vivant in C&Cs
Is Blond Ambition a sort of variant of LMV? I was pretty
sure that one was a a Blonde Biere De Garde as well?
BB Hatchet...any word on this lately?
Heard from the brewer tonight it is real and it is in bottles
no word on time of release?
What he said.
Heard this is hitting soon.... hope it's true.
talk about a case of blue balls!
I've heard last Thursday of this month.
December is an expensive month..
Damn straight it is. All these special releases on top of Christmas = DAMN!
Please let this be true.
Yeah, I wanna get my hands of some of this...
speaking of southern star, when was smoked porter released?
Has anyone seen the bottle art for this yet?
The 2010 Pro-Am? Around Aug/Sept 2010.
On premise accounts only. 500ml bottles. January.
Oh wow, BB1 ver 2.0? - rly, srsly? lol
Is this gonna make its' way up to Austin, oh purveyor of new interesting information?
Yes, it will. For sure.
discovered this label .. and like it a whole lot
That is awesome.. sad it's going to be at bars and restaurants only if that is the case.
If any of you Houston-ites get hold of an extra bottle or two and want to trade, I'll be in town with some Surly Darkness and (Founders) KBS in March!
I really hoping I'm in town for this release since it will only be available in Bars and Restaurants. Hopefully Nobi Pub gets some.
Any news on what bourbon barrels are being used?
They are going to sell bombers at bars and restaurants?
I think they are going to sell large cans at bars and restaurants
