Gillian is still on the docket? It was on the '12 schedule and never showed, I just figure she got snuffed out.

I had already had a few glasses of BCS variants, but almost positive Brett said she would be bottled in th 760's.

So have there been any updates on the release dates for this one?

I heard Brett Porter was discussing it at the Bavarian Lodge takeover, but wanted to see if there's been any kind of confirmation on when it'll hit the street.

In my own little fantasy world I'm hoping that they just used the same spent BCBS barrels from this past release and will therefore yield the same quantity making it that much easier for us all.

Well they have again removed it from their beer calendar. So I'm guessing no time soon.

A thought balloon containing this beer has been following me around for several months, no matter how many times the rumored release date is pushed back. Make it stop.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this IS news. This video confirms they are using spent BCBS barrels. Up til now, it's been pure speculation as to whether they were using bourbon barrels or bourbon barrels previously used for BCB Stout.

This video confirms the latter, which makes me a very very very happy camper.

It's not king Henry unless they are PVW 23 year barrels that held BCBS for 2 years prior to being filled with barley wine. And whose to say its the same barley wine recipe from King Henry.

Maybe now we can drink it when it is amazing rather than holding it for ransom and letting it fade away to an average world class barleywine

I doubt those things would make much of a difference in a blind test.

And if all the Bourbon County vintages are considered the same beer despite having different ABV, it's fair to assume this is a similar barleywine recipe. The label art was chosen as a nod to King Henry.

It makes a big difference between Rare and regular BCBS.
