Will be up with relatives in Appleton for Thanksgiving and don't want to travel back home to Chicago in the middle of the night just for BCBS...as I realize it is just beer...although very good beer. I do hope to try to at least grab some regular BCBS maybe in stores around Appleton or the way back down to Chicago that afternoon. Do stores get BCBS on Black Friday in Appleton? If so do they get several cases? Any variants at all? Again just hoping for a few bottles of regular at least...variants would be a nice surprise, not willing to fight as hard as I had to do last year for it...and may have to end up trading previous years BCBS for it if needed. Any info will help. Thanks!

Not sure about Appleton, but my store in green bag will have it that Friday as well as a couple variants.

Don't keep us in suspense. What store might that be?

Cool thanks! Good to hear other Wisconsin cities get it that far north. Hoping a smaller town like appleton gets it too. If not maybe some towns on the way back to Chicago.

Not Appleton, but Green Bay's Ridgeview Liquor and The Wine Cellar in De Pere have confirmed they will be receiving it and releasing it on Black Friday morning. Can't be in two places at once, but those are more than likely the only stores in the area getting aside from maybe the Green Bay Woodman's as well.

Thanks for the info! Any idea when they will open up that day and release it? Are there usually lines before the store opens? In Chicago I was in line at a Binny's at 5:30 (opens at 9:00) last year and was still twenty something in line.

I would call both stores. I haven't been to the release in Green Bay. But I'm sure there will be a line at Ridgeview and Wine Cellar. I would guess both open at 9am and there will be somewhat of a line a few hours before probably? I am just guessing, but I'm sure GB is nothing like Chicago.

Ridgeview is opening at 8am. They will be doing a number system apparently, so you will be able to leave and get breakfast or whatever for a little bit. People are allowed to bottle share as well. They will be doing random door prizes as well. I would say your best bet for any variants in the area would be them. Otherwise I'm sure some smaller stores in the area will probably get small allotments.

Thanks for the info! I hope it's not like Chicago...it gets crazy down here!

Thanks for the information. Any idea when people might start lining up or when tickets are given out? I like the bottle share part...will try to bring some good stuff from Chicago if that is where I end up!

Club Liquor in Menasha will have it and some variants, only about 10-15 mins from Appleton. Great shop, can always find some gems there. Will have to ask for it, she keeps it behind the counter.

I'm not sure this is correct. I did the event last year and they opened at 9.

Just in: first 50 people in line can buy two bcbs. First 25 can buy that as well as 1 coffee and 1 barley wine. Looks like I'm headed to Chicago.

Thanks! Does she release it right away? Is there a line that forms?

How was the turnout last year?

Good turnout. Line started around 7:45, so wasn't too bad. It's official that they open at 9 and start selling at 12.

Just so you probably don't waste your time, Doris doesn't usually put stuff out till Monday. It's club liquors thing. Chances are they won't put it out black friday BE AWARE of this. And she will essentially tell you to fuck off if you ask too.

Thanks! That's good about the line but not sure I can be there until 12 since I am heading back to Chicago that day.

Thanks for the info. Yeah won't be there passed Black Friday and don't want to piss off any local stores. Just want to get a couple bottles and head back to Chicago.

Just an FYI, Woodman's and Festival have plenty of stout and Regal. No lines. Walked in, got my bottles and walked out 20 minutes ago.

Guessing you're talking Appleton. My wife went to Festival West in GB this morning at 9 and they were out of variants and had a one bottle limit on regular that was almost gone. I went to Woodman's at 11 and the clerk sighed when I inquired. Told me I could have the last one. So I'm guessing GB is pretty well cleaned out.

11? They had been selling it at that point for almost 3 hours. Should have called ahead.

Was down there a few hours ago and had a coffee. Just finished off one of my bottles of Regal at home. I saw WOB had Barleywine as well earlier today.
