Breweries Opening in the Minnesota 2016/2017

Isn't a brewery/brew pub planned for the Macy's building project, as well?

Pryes has finally announced a location in Minneapolis on the Mississippi River.

Cosmos Brewing (Hugo, MN) has a launch party at Grumpy's NE on December 2nd. They will be draft only for awhile. Their Facebook page says they won't have a taproom until they find a new location that allows it. It doesn't make sense to me why they would temporary install a 15BBL system somewhere in order to open a litttle earlier. Their lineup is actually fairly intriguing.

 

Any update on the Capp's plan?

There will be a few new plan names being dropped before January 2017, but here's a bunch of updates (based on social media and other) to take us into December:

12welve Eyes is hoping for a summer 2017 opening date (c.f. November 12 tasting.)
Alloy Brewing is hoping to start brewing (and be open) the "first half of 2017."
Bluenose Gopher is in the middle of demo and -- No "Estimated Time to Brewing." (ETB)
Broken Clock will have another* free party November 26 at Schmidt Brewery Lofts.
Copper Trail is still hoping to open later this month (but it's looking more like December.)
Cosmos Brewing invades Stanley's Northeast on Wednesday, December 7th.
Cuyuna Brewing has their equipment and hopes to open late December/early January.
Hamel Brewing has run into (routine) delays; "no sooner than Spring" (ETB 2017.)
HeadFlyer continues to post updates on social media, but there's no ETB.
Invictus Brewing hopes to break ground in the spring of 2017.
LowerTown Brewing (Note: The plan is still in development, but there is no ETB.)
Meetinghall is moving forward (ETB 2017): "Craft beer will be brewed in Dundas in 2017."
Tanzenwald hopes to open in February of 2017 (and the website's updated again.)

*I've never been, but a reliable source tells me that these free tastings are fun.

 

Imminent Brewing just completed its Indiegogo campaign and signed the papers for its space. They're working on demolition now. Aiming for late spring 2017 opening, I believe.

 

Can really tell that we're starting to run out of names. meeting hall? imminent?

 

Anything planned for bloomington or eden prairie ?

 

There are 800 breweries in California (w/ 150 in-planning), and some of the names (Burping Beaver, BikeDog, YOLO) make me happy that Minnesota is still under 200 breweries.

Eden Prairie has two plans which show up in a basic search:

BROS 2 HOES BREWERY LLC
Flynntown Brewing Company

While the former will be a rural ("farm") brewery in Iowa, Flynntown has been planning for years, but doesn't appear to have a timetable for their commercial operation.

Anyhow, that entire stretch of wilderness is in desperate need of homebrewers goin' Pro.

 

At least Minnesota doesn't have a brewery named after a botched sex change operation resulting in a "stump".
