They're opening soon.* Looks like their plan is to co-brew at Sand Creek until they are ready to realize their rural, all-in-one taproom/brewery -- based somewhere outside of Green Bay.

*Worth mentioning that they hoped to get their beer out in late 2014 or early 2015.

One reason a new, cash strapped brewery would choose to give generic names to their beers is because they have to pay to register every new name. While I think making different beers and giving them the same name is extremely confusing to the costumer I can see why some places do it.

So I'm starting to map out holiday plans for later this month while I'm in the Twin Cities and want to hit at least a couple new places while I am down.

Any suggestions. Thinking Modist for sure. Still haven't been to 56 Brewing. Any thought there?

Maybe Inbound? Lakes and Legends is another idea.

    Any thoughts appreciated.

I think Inbound is a little better than Modist. Of the new breweries in downtown, Inbound and Modist are worth stopping at, but Lakes & Legends and Clockwerks are not.

56 still only has a tasting room. I think their taproom should be open early next year. Their beers are okay.

Avoid Lakes and Legends. All but one of the beers I've had from them has been seriously flawed

I don't recall if you've been to these, but since I live in the general area, I'd appreciate your take on Lakeville Brewing and Angry Inch.

Have not been there. That's an option too but a bit more of a drive from east Metro where I'm staying. Definitely need to get to those so we'll see.

I was at both last weekend. You migh want to give them some more time before heading too far out of your way to check them out. Lakeville Brewing seemed to have more of a family restaurant vibe and only had two house beers to go with a handful of guest beers.

While I have yet to have anything that I would deem great from Birch's On The Lake, they are consistently good. They have this deal going on right now, which is obscene.

I don't live close to there, so I won't come close to taking full advantage, but it was still an easy decision to sign up. Just today, I got at least $25 worth of stuff that was included.

Holy hell. You could go twice a year and that'd be worth it. Thanks for the share!

That easily offsets the gas money I spent driving here anyways. Such great beer and place.

Was there a limit on how many of them they were selling, or an end date for this? I might only make it out there twice a year but it seems like a no brainer to me.

I didn't see any limits or an end date. They take down your personal information and give you a punchcard. I have to imagine there is some limit because they are definitely loosing money on this offer. There is an additional stipulation on the free pint that they had to tap it within the last 2 days, but they gave me a free pint of a beer they tapped over a week ago.

The logo fonts aren't exactly the same, but does anyone want to take bets on how long it takes Coors to send a cease and desist?

Ahh, yes, "Jordan Pale".. I was mistaken in thinking that the beer was simply named "Pale". They also had "Mocha" and "Light" the first time I was there, so maybe those have equally awesome names, such as "Jordan Mocha" or "Jordan Light"

From what I'm hearing around town, they won't be open full hours for a while - more one night a week events and then some Friday/Saturday combos. They're already expanding initial capacity as well, the brew club membership dues was advertised as going towards the purchases of additional fermenters.

The place was rocking for the Jordan Dazzle parade, I think the townfolk are thrilled and they'll be quite busy on the nights they are open.

Two points per those developments at the old Silgan campus:

    - Both BlackStack and Can Can Wonderland should be open in the first quarter of 2017.
    - The website content is a placeholder -- the full site is coming soon.

Pretty exciting stuff for the west midway!
I count over a dozen plans scattered across Chaska, Eden Prairie, and Shakopee (and you'd mentioned friends going Pro in that area, too!) But by now I reckon that the same few plans have been conflated as many plans.

The most active plans in that area appear to be homebrewers using social media, only, and not commercial BIP (distinguishing the two is no easier today than it was in 2010.)
For instance, I'm guessing Jonathan Carver Brewing Company became Defender Brewing (neither has yet been registered as a business name.)

Two other homebrewers in the area are listed elsewhere as commercial BIP:
    - Flying Cloud Brewing
    - Rock & Roll Outlaw Brewing

With these plans being the most active on social media, I note several others which have been mentioned in passing but which lack characteristics (ZIP code, brewer's names, etc) by which they might be identified. These "duplicate plans" are in addition to several other plans for the area which did not come to pass.

At any rate, I hope that the Carver County Public Works location works out. I also hope that the people down that way are really thirsty -- over a dozen plans~!?! :grinning:

Here's a NEW (or "new") plan for Plymouth, MN -- Under Pressure Brewing Company
Some local newsmedia coverage (from a couple of years back):
    http://post.mnsun.com/2014/07/01/taprooms-in-new-hope-possibly/

    Franchise Expansion -- Nutmeg Brewhouse
The original concept included an on-site brewing system large enough to supply beer to more than one restaurant location. There was also talk of expanding or franchising the Nutmeg concept, and word has filtered-out about the second, Arden Hills location via The Beer Show. Give it a listen! I did. :sunglasses:
