I'm sure my local store won't mind if I pay the iron price for it.

I'm nearly finished with the first book now, and a beer description from a brewery just gave me a spoiler.

What kind of bizzaro world is this?????

All the Binny's locations in Chicago will have them on Thursday, and WLV is going to have a release even on the 15th I believe.

Had a bottle yesterday, and got the glass with it at a release in Dallas. Pours a light yellow/straw, yeasty, so there is a lingering head about 3 fingers. Complex layer of citrus and spice. If you are a fan of blondes, this is a pretty good rendition, and it should be a very drinkable crossover beer for your friends that aren't too into beer.

Forget the beer; is there anything on the back of that glass?

I'm going to drink the shit out of this beer, and watch the shit out of that show! I've been planning this for 3 months now.

Did anyone else get half way through the 4th book and just say "fuck this"?

Book 4 was probably my least favorite....but still an absolute necessary read. Book 3 was a tough act to follow.

After I finished book 5, I had a higher opinion of both 4 and 5 (since they run concurrently)...but 3 is still the high bar.

I would love a newly invented style of beer for each house. Based on family, geographical location, etc. Dire wolf, a honey mead barrel aged milk porter would be off the chain.

Appreciate the interest, but no extras for me, and I would like to hold onto this one.

"Kind of"...it's the epitome of commercialism and based on what people have said in this thread, it will sell well based simply on the fact that it's tying in some current pop-culture/phenomenon. Not saying Ommegang doesn't produce solid stuff, but this shit is gimmicky and people will purchase it solely because they like the television show (again, this is what some responses in this thread have said).

Hopefully they brew something along the lines "Wildfire"... I love me some beers with subtle hints of chipotle pepper. I suppose the name could work just as well with a nice cinnamon laced mead too.

Other names, though I'm not sure how'd they'd translate all that well to a specific audience, could be "Renly's Uncomfortably Long Dude-On-Dude Make-Out Session Fruit Lambic" and "Theon Greyjoy's - I Finger My Own Sister Sour"

Anyone want book 3? I just finished it and don't need to keep it around my place. I'd be happy to send it or trade it to you.

thats not bad though...love the show, love the brewery, why the hell wouldnt I buy it? I dont see a problem with it being "commercial." That doesnt always hurt businesses as far as I know.

Are all the bottles sold as a gift pack with the glass or just at select releases?

I believe the glass is currently just at events. If anyone has a line of an event in SoCal, I would love to hear about it.

Eventually, though, the FB page made it sound like they will be offering the glass on the website for sale.

Got to try it at LP Binny's. They were giving out samples of a bunch of Ommegang stuff. Iron Throne was good. But, nothing to write home about.

People were buying it by the case. I grabbed one bottle for my gf who loves Game of Thrones. Paid $9.99 for it.

So what if people do. It's possible that a fan of the show will but it and discover that there is more to beer than Coors Light.
