Yep, just took a little longer and finished a little higher than I would have preferred.

Brewing an American wheat ale today, a clone of BlueStar's Wheat Beer from theBYO 250 Classic Clones magazine. Over 35C here today (95F) so this one might need to go into the fermenting fridge to drop it to pitching temp as I doubt my garden tapwater will get low enough.

Also using a new liquid yeast today from a new Aussie supplier called Bluestone Yeast. Using their San Diego clone which is supposedly analogous to Wyeast1056 and White Labs' Cali Ale.

    Cheers!

Brewed up a hazy and trying to maximize thiol potential. So I mashed hopped, added Phantasm at flame out (will add more at DH), and fermented with Helio Gazer. See what happens.

I’ve been slacking off on posting lately! Last brew was a chocolate milk stout that just had cacao nibs and vanilla added to it. Likely bottle it next weekend. Next up to brew is a rye cream ale in anticipation of spring!

Brewing today first time after shoulder surgery over 2 months ago.
Before having it, I brewed 2 batches that were in primary over 2 months and just transferred to corney kegs.
They came out fine. I always leave primary alone for 3 weeks or longer, then transfer.

Today, brewing a DIPA and a Doublebock in memory of Ed Stoudt who held Brewfests at his Brewery in Adamstown Pa. That introduced me to micros and changed my taste buds for life.
Their Pilsner was the best around here IMO.

Loved how he personally led the tours there. Really friendly guy. Tour finishes, he introduces his wife (the brewmaster) who's running the host stand at the restaurant, then hops behind the raw bar and starts shucking oysters.

I haven't been brewing or posting much lately, but my hiatus is over.
Brewed a double batch this past weekend.
Brewed my first mash hopped beer with helio gazer to see what that's all about.
And a small belgian dark beer to build up some yeast for an upcoming quad.

Lots of brewing going on lately! Brewed up a gf Nectaron American Pale Ale the other day. Today, I'm brewing a gf American Amber, and this weekend I'll be brewing another batch of gf American Brown Ale. I'd really like to have a house Amber and Brown, but still making tweaks...

Just managed to ruin two beers at the same time while dry hopping. Added the Nectaron that was set aside for my single hop pale ale to the american amber. Also, was short of the intended hops for the amber, so I substituted Medusa that I've had on hand, but that went in the Nectaron pale ale. So, I'm an idiot on all counts because I've been trying to do too much at once. We'll see how they turn out ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Riptorn, I like your optimism at the end!

Bubbled up another batch of amber candi sugar! Inverted with lemons growing on the property. I've liked the contributions it's made to certain beers lately, at around 5-10% coverage (ie, 5-10 lbs in 100-lb grain bill).

An amber with Nectaron sounds pretty killer. I have a bunch in my freezer for a future project. Can’t wait to hear your results!

Waiting to keg my SN Tumbler clone.

It's been about 5 years since I made it.

Interesting. I was thinking similar about a pale ale with Medusa.

    Wait.....what?
