My girlfriend is in Brazil right now and found a few interesting bottles that she'd like to bring home. Is it as easy as packing them up in a suitcase and checking the bag at the airport? Anything else she should know? Thanks in advance :-)

Yes that's it, I've done it several times. Put it inside a ziploc bag and then wrap it in tshirts or something. I've done it 9 times like that and have never broken anything.

Just make sure if you are over the alcohol limit to declare it on the immigration/customs form...not sure what the limit is for US citizens, but it was 1 litre for me (though i exceeded that by quite a bit) when i went to the US.

If they ask what it is, say beer and they ought to wave you through as its generally not worth the time to work out the small amount of tax/excise on beer brought in personally.
