Thanks. Live up in the Central Valley so can't come down for a single bottle lol. Wives have a way of not seeing the justification that it's an older bottle!

The 2012 was not as good as the 2013. Chopping the nuts in the '13, I was told, made the difference resulting in a more pronounced (yet still subtle) hazlenut flavor that was barelly detectable in the first version.
Please don't misunderstand me, ALL Gray Monday is great. But the hazlenuts came through more in the later version.

Ah, thanks for the insight. Never got to try 2012. Still have a bottle of 2013 in my fridge.

Yeah, I appreciate the Bruery's willingness to be creative, but sometimes you strike out. Floyd d' Rue and Roble Blanco were both strikeouts this year. Both are barely drinkable imo.

I love Floyd D Rue and I know several people who did. I agree on Roble though.

Even most of the positive reviews cap out at "interesting"...

That being said, I'm happy I bought 1 bottle. I'm not happy I bought 4. The extra 3 went into the blending session beer pile though. And the first one DID get more tolerable with minor adjunct blending.

Tried the GHC yesterday at the HS blending. Had a great citrus nose with strong whiskey flavors. I don't drink old fashions, but found this very tasty actually.

GHC is 1 included with 3 more available to purchase at 19.99 after discount. Just FYI.

    Annnnnnnd done.

Now what the hell is tomorrow's beer? I checked back a few pages but I don't think anyone's gotten it with certainty yet. Personally, BA 6 Geese is too easy (and not the same bird ).

So is this it for Hoarders this year? Awhile back I recall talk of a fruited berliner?

    From the email update:

Mango Hottenroth is taking it's time to bottle condition, as is standard for our Berliner Weisse yeast culture. It is likely that we won't be able to release this beer until January, but don't worry if you aren't continuing on as a member in 2015, you'll still be able to get your bottles as promised. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause.

I opened an Ignis this weekend and while there was zero signs of infection the beer seems to be deteriorating. The spices were barely and I mean barely noticeable. Spices can do that in beer but if any of you are aging one I would suggest not to.
However, I also popped a Wineification II and mother of god that beer is fantastic......

the other option would be that it's a play on words and that it's a gueuze and but the only option that would leave us with is Rueuze

I just tried Roble Blanco. I actually really liked this. Legitimately.

Hit me up if you're in the Bay Area and want to unload some regrettable purchases on me.

Oh, and I hope (given the glowing reviews) that Tart of Darkness with Cherries and Vanilla comes back next year because that is an amazing beer.
