I suspect foul play. I bet it was an InCider Job.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Don't feel like you'd have to try them first or anything before a declaration like that.

For me it was Wine III (I know it's a repeat, but to me it tasted significantly different, i.e. much better to me), Bourgogne Blanc, and Humulus Rueuze.

Just the describes alone on these make me feel like I lucked out and can spend my money at another brewery this month.

Wow, those sound so unappealing, and I don't give a shit if I am not giving them a drink first. They all just sound, either from experience with bad WC to just the descriptions of those mystery beers, that it's just not my month.

It was way more English barleywine/old ale than a weizenbock. And so damn good.

I was a big fan of Chronology 12, was much improved over 6. That's got me pretty excited for 18

It seems that everybody already reached the conclusion that this month's allocations are not even worth trying, let alone spending money on bottles. Everyone's wallets must be so happy.

A lot of these beers sounded very strange on paper, but in all honesty, I was impressed with most everything on tap yesterday.

The standout though was Humulus TrIPL, very "crushable" for a 10% beer. If I remember correctly it was Simcoe, Centennial, and Columbus hops. Looking forward to bottles of this.

Fourthmeal is delicious and crisp, about what you would expect from a collab with MBC.

Juggling Walruses... the description makes it sound like a boozy fruity mess, but, this beer is very very good. It's almost like a stout-ier Consecration. The fruit character shines through well, there isn't much heat, and it's got the right level of sour. Pretty balanced for a beer that sounds like it was going to be a mess. Definitely maxing this one.

Wine III was very sweet and wine forward but I really liked it, with the hike in ABV I was expecting it be more Black Tuesday. It was a pleasant surprise.

White Chocolate was good, albeit a little more sweet than I remember. Not sure if I just haven't had it fresh in so long but I remember there being more booze/chocolate. The vanilla shined through on this one. As long as there are no infection issues this should age well.

Chocolate Salty BBLS, was good, but nothing special. The adjuncts don't really come through too heavy and it's pretty balanced, but I expected like a Chocolate Rain-lite but this was kind of muddled.

That's good to hear because I'm quite interested in that one, actually.

Thank you! This sort of commentary is hreatly appreciated.

Personally, I'm excited about this month. WC, elements, and Chrono are definite. Fortunately I'll have a chance to taste the others before the 31st and decide. I appreciate specific reviews (both pro and con) like this one to help with that decision--especially in those months I have to buy blind.

I think the best way to describe this beer is an imperial version of Tart of Darkness with black currants. I was also surprised by it. The bourbon notes pull back on the sourness of regular TOD a bit but its got a nice balance. This is nothing like the mess that was Flanders Giant.

Not that anyone wants to bring back up the growler talk, but I found out some interesting info last night. With two up and running pilot systems now (one at each location) the plan is to have a lot more available for 32oz growler fills next year. So it sounds like we shouldn't expect a lot of 32oz fills of normal stuff, but mainly one off batches of things...which depending on how they come out, could be great.

Although their email did say that anyone with a 2015 growler can get a 32oz fill of whatever is available for the 2L fill, so that's cool too

I actually enjoyed it a lot. Nothing out of the ordinary, per se. But managed to perfectly blend what you'd expect in both breweries' respective beers, plus thought it was an easier drink than what either typically puts out. If it was ever available in a smaller format (not gonna happen), I'd probably make it an everyday beer (for myself).
