My roll over works the other way around. I used to "borrow" from next month all the time  Yolo! lol

New Confession or the old one? If it's the new one, that might be our first sour on the 22nd

it's hard to anticipate month to month though because the bottle counts and cost per bottle are usually shifting. All I know is I'm swimming in beer and I wouldn't want it any other way. Might bathe myself in Chocolate Rain later...

I can easily say I'm not happy with this month. I understand slow or uninteresting months but this is the first time in my 3 Reserve and Hoarders memberships that I probably won't buy anything. That will change on the 22nd but, yeah, right this second color me very dissapointed with an anniversary beer and a beer I don't care for.

My dissappointment would probably be tempered if we knew for sure what the society Terreux beer is going to be, or even better if allocations were known and we could order today (with pickup after 4/22).

Even better would be if there was another cellar sale before 4/22.

disclaimer: I am a very grumpy old man.

You can't exactly blame them for imperial or xata not fitting your particular taste. You can be disappointed that they only released two beers at the beginning of the month, but the fact that these are the two beers that they are releasing and your opinion of them says nothing more about the allocations than what your opinion is about their anniversary beer and imperial or xata. They can't cater to every society member's taste preferences with every release.

Banks invented a great thing, I think it's called a savings account?

Had a nice chat with Matt last night and got some confirmations on some upcoming stuff:

terreux - the "secret" beer that is coming is SitR w/peaches. They never meant for it to be some big surprise and he admitted they might have worded the email poorly. For sure though it is regular SitR and SitR w/peaches on the 22nd.

Beret - This is almost the same recipe as Bottleworks XII but it has been slightly tweaked. He did mention though that since this will be year round, it will be interesting to see how people react to it as it is a fruited sour and when fresh, it is much for fruit forward and sweet and when bottle aged, the sourness that we all love from bottleworks XII comes through more.

He seemed super happy about the sours and promised it will be flowing again starting later this month.

He also mentioned that they might start allowing +1 for SMM. It always pretty empty on those days (except for the 1st one of the year), especially now that they are starting at noon. He's just afraid that if they do that the line would be out the door and members would get pissed...understandably.

That being said, we will see if he actually pulls the trigger on that. He seemed like he was on the fence for sure.

Just out of curiosity what were allotments of most of the sours in previous years?
    First year reserve.

It has varied considerably over the years, with last year's allotments on most sours being lower than ever before. With Terreux being new, I would hazard a guess that most will be on the low side (2/4 or 3/6) this year.

I can almost guarantee it will be 2/4 or 3/6. Its rare that any beer, not just sours, ever hits 4/8.

It's only rare since 2014. In prior years, 4/8 and 6/12 weren't uncommon.

If sitr with peaches is 2/4 I'm going to be seriously pissed. Matt mentioned both options though, so fingers crossed for 3/6. (which still is nowhere near a RS member like me would need)

Oh man, if only, 6 bottles of Filmishmish and then somehow trick @JoshBeerNow to accidently drop his entire case of filmishmish conveniently into the trunk of my car.

    *plotting begins*
