Bruery 2016 RS/HS Allocations

I figure this is the best place to post this question since people here likely have older bottles or possibly purchased some from one of the bruery's vintage sales.

How can you date older bottles of melange 3 or is it just an estimation?

The bottles I have do not have any vintage markings on the labels nor etched in the glass. I know older versions of black tuesday you can date based off the shape of the label and/or the abv thats listed. Unfortunately my older melange 3's have no markings, same labels and are listed as 15% abv. The only difference ive noticed was in the shade of the wax color. One is much deeper, darker red and one is lighter/brighter red. Any insight here?

 

Did the same a couple of days ago. A steal considering the bottle was almost twice as much for less beer.

 

What years are you expecting? I have a 2011 and a 2015 I can look at the difference between if you'd like.

 

Alright, so 2011 looks to be 15% but it says "Black and Tan" instead of "3's Company" and the "Alc. 15% by vol" looks like someone messed up on the lettering and it's oddly stretched out. 2013 is 16.8%, and says "3's Company". 2015 is easy to tell because it isn't waxed.

Ah thanks! I'm a RS member so I was worried I wasn't getting these email updates, didn't realize there was a separate tasting room mailing list.

 

I was thinking they are between 2011 and 13 since I havent bought any in the last 2 years or so. Black and Tan is the text on one (maybe both?) but the wax is different colors.
@AndrewK thanks for the link, i think that will help once I go look at the bottles again.

 

Neither the growler nor the bag are showing up for me in the merchandise section to buy the second item. Anyone else having this issue? (yes, i'm logged in)
