    Here's my SMM reviews, fwiw

Oude tart w Cherries -- the best oude tart with cherries yet. They knocked this one out of the park this year. I dunno what that person up there is smoking cause the cherry flavor is so prominent it tastes like I'm drinking cherry fruit leather. Stoked to try it out of bottles but on draft it was so delicious and drinkable.

Blue bbls -- super high ABV and it shows. A bit boozy right now, but I think some time in the bottle might mellow it out. The good thing about it fresh tho is the blueberries are so prominent. A great beer like usual. The tartness is also pretty prevelant as well. Draft.

Confessions 2016 -- talked to Jeremy about this one. He said its early because he decided instead of putting this beer in stainless for an extended amount of time like they've done in the past, they just skipped that stepped and went straight to bottling. A ton better than last year IMO. It got its funk and tartness back and it doesn't just taste like flat white wine anymore. Wasn't gonna get bottles but now I'm strongly considering. Draft.

White mocha -- wow, just wow. Big bourbon and decedent chocolate, vanilla, caramel and coffee flavors. Essentially this beer tastes like white chocolate w fresh coffee. For being so high in ABV, it was a very easy drinker. Taste was rich but not thick like big Bruery beers usually are. Bummed on only getting a couple bottles of this. Draft.

    I think that's it ?

Did anyone get any sense of the insidious White Chocolate tartness from the White Mocha? I don't know if I'm still just scarred from 2014 WC, but even the 2015 had very modest tinges of the green apple when I first opened it (it faded over time... not sure if it was a little oxygen or psycho semantics).

I didn't get any of that at all. The coffee in it could have helped though.

    That is encouraging... thank you!

Already ordered my 4 bottles so I guess this is moot anyway

Pretty much my impressions as well. The standout was definitely White Mocha. It really, really opens up once it warms up. My first sip was a little off-putting but as it warmed it got rich and delicious. Definitely looking forward to bottles.

I'm going to echo your sentiments about OTw/Cherries. The best batch they've done by far.

I'm happy to hear this year's confession is dryer. That was my complaint above about 2015 (too sweet, tasted like grape juice to me). So I guess I'll need to give it a shot after all.

hoppy, grassy, nice flavor, not too heavy. if you like hoppy beers, this is a no brainer.

How about the Poterie. Any input on that beer? I usually like these, just curious about the scotch barrel.

Poterie was one of the better anniversary beer barrel treatments that I have tried. I'd recommend, for sure.

White Mocha was a great surprise for me. Not a real big fan of white choclate. Blows WC out of the water in my mind.

I agree with tokimedo for the most part...only difference is i didnt get any bourbon on white mocha...just lots of coffee.

Oude Tart with Cherries - pure cherry juciness...i agree best batch yet! Cherry leather describes it perfectly.

Confession - i think people will be split again. I liked it compared to last year because it was drier and has a very clean finish. Still get the grapes but it also had nice tartness...all around more balanced again(like batch 1) IMHO.

White Mocha - Nothing really negative to say about it...just dont expect it to be a boozy bourbon bomb. The abv is hidden and the coffee is very heavy. Not as sweet as a real white mocha...but still pretty good.

Blue Bbls - Yup...boozy and blueberries...not very sour...same as last year.

    All were great.

Cant really go wrong with any of the new allocations!

Kinda silly they only offered 4 White Mocha to HS and 2 to RS when they could have done 6 to HS and 0 to RS.

With a 1:1 ratio of HS to RS that would be true but I think if they were to do that we'd all be able to walk away with a case.

Thanks for the intel to those of you that posted your thoughts and tasting notes!

I don't like white chocolate (the chocolate itself, not the beer which I've never had)... anyone with similar chocolate tastes have any thoughts on white mocha by chance? Thank you!
