NICE! Thanks for the heads up. Bought the Grey Monday and Terreux Hoarders Cuvee since those are two I haven't tried yet. Sweet surprise sale!

One of the reasons I signed up for Reserve was Grey Monday, so had to go for some today, but ouch that price!!!!

What did you think it would cost? It is $40 when it comes out, just like Mocha Wednesday and Chocolate Rain. The extra $2.50 storage fee for 6 months too much?

Could have sworn it was cheaper, so I stand corrected. Still not spending that much on another bottle.

You also realize that doesn't include your discount?
On a side note there could be some sort of marketing idea. I do agree that there is sticker shock when I see $40 for a bottle, but when I see the same bottle at $35 after my discount there is less sticker shock.

Yes I realize that my discount isn't included. And you're right, I'd prefer the email have the discount included when they show the price. Less of a sticker shock

    HS Members:

Thank you for sharing 3 bottles of Terreux Hoarders cuvee with me, an RS member... I feel like these membership tiers are incredibly blurred when HS beers are released to RS members and beers like Beret w/ P&V are called "Reserve Society Releases" but are included in the PS Q1 Release...

    But yeah... Thanks

Hopefully it is simply a case of The Bruery needing to make adjustments to their production capabilities/quantities and recipes.

Be sure to take note of the "vocabulary" section at the bottom of the all Society emails that explains which groups may or may not eventually see a specific beer released to them.

I also view it more like a bottle of wine given the ABV. Roughly 35 bucks for a delicious bottle of wine is good deal. It's not an every day price, but you won't live long drinking weekday beers regularly anyway.

But society membership will drop if they don't hold product back. I mean... I can buy BT and CR as a non-member now and get many "society beer" tastings without having to be a member. If the they don't practice exclusivity, then whats the point of paying extra to be an exclusive member?

In reality, PS has the best thing going. Every beer you get is directly related to the price you pay. RS/HS get a block of beers which are "rarer" but do not make up the entire "value" of the RS/HS membership. Not trying to beat a dead horse, but the growler perks went downhill too which in my personal situation, makes the RS membership less meaningful and something I will pass on next year.

I think some in this thread will disagree and accept this as a challenge

My favorite perk is the discount. When the beers are $30-40 a bottle, I feel like even as RS my 15% is basically paying for itself.
