Ouch. Shitty to not have someone reach out to you beforehand and let you know. I have 18 boxes coming to me dating back to last May, so I'm assuming the same will happen to me. BT is not an acceptable substitution for some of those other beers.

This seems to be a much more frequent problem, and like has been mentioned before, borders on fraud. I've posted about this before in defense of the Bruery and have since been proven wrong, so I hope something changes soon.

I'm a pretty easy going guy and subscribe to the "its just beer" ideology in 99% of situations for this hobby. But, I've had some financial hardships this year and the offer of a refund would have gone a long way. Furthermore, had those bottles been refunded from my order instead of replaced, I would've saved quite a bit on shipping as well. All around just annoying and frustrating.

Did they ship it to you ?

When they replace an infected bottle or so, they always tell me we are replacing it with BT. If you want you can just get a credit . Maybe it's different when you are there in person.

Yes, it was shipped and there was no notification of anything beforehand. I even requested a list of beers that I had on hold there so that I could properly determine how many shippers to buy. The order invoices they sent me had no indication that any of the beer was out of stock.

Yeah, pretty hard to defend that kind of nonsense.

And kudos for the ATCQ reference.

Sounds like another case of "overbooking". #Brunited

That's really shady, I hope you get a good explanation and resolution.

The only possible explanation is that no one told The Bruery that Black Tuesday didn't replace gold when the Bretton Woods agreement was dissolved.

Sorry. If you email them, maybe they'll pay to ship them back. Then you can get your refund.

You do realize that if you sent them a polite email about it, they'd probably issue a refund and let you keep the BT bottle, right?

And when you sent them an email explaining this, what was their response?

No response. Hence my reasons for bringing this issue to light in a public forum.

Hmmm. Did your salutation begin with "Dear Assholes,"? Only kidding.

You may want to try again as I think a lack of response is pretty abnormal for them. I've been in the societies since in the beginning and I've never had them fail to reply to an email. Or, if you don't want to go that route, you could PM BruerJoel. Point being, the Bruery may have their fuckups from time to time, but they usually resolve them in an fair way.

Yeah, I had always had decent communication in the past too. Thought that perhaps since I am no longer in RS, my email or whatever was dropped to a lower priority level??? Wasn't aware of BruerJoel though. I will try reaching out to him that way. Thanks for the advice.

I wish the bruery would go back down to smaller batches of beer, get rid of proxies, no out of state people allowed, no shipping beer, and short hold times. That would solve pretty much everything. It seems like the people who complain the most dont even live in the state. F'em. Change it up The bruery!!!!

M15 is pretty much infected so they did you a favor by not fulfilling those bottles. Better question: how is it that you live in LA and can't find the time to pick up beers since before October?

Please go play in traffic. If you recall back to the price increase in the tasting room the only people bitching about that were the locals that get to actually enjoy that perk. Some of us out of state folks get the short end on the fulfillment side of things but if there's one thing that I've learned in my time in the Societies is that it pays to ship regularly and often. The only time this doesn't pan out is when beers are infected and you're then stuck with drinking or dumping them and hoping for a refund. Them trading out M15 for BT is a little more than a one for one swap so I wouldn't complain to much. I'd complain about having even more BT on hand though but that isn't a bad problem to have.

Did anyone give a review on the allocations yet?

I learned awhile ago that if it's an archive release or a lowish bottle count beer, you're better off picking up the bottles early. I've had to get a few refunds in the past.

Honestly, the oversold part probably has to do with inventory saying they have X number of Y beer in the warehouse, then they start pulling it out and realize that they have a case or two less than they had thought.

Definitely not disagreeing, I'd be pissed if they just replaced beers without my authorization, hopefully it all works out for you.

Small critique of the Bruery Store website (and I want to see if this is just me) but can anyone zoom in on label information on the bottles for sale? Sometimes I want to just read the label details (front and back) and it just seems I have to go off of the description or read what I can from the zoomed out bottle picture. Thoughts?

I would love to not have to go scouring the web for such thing. I'm not trying to beat a dead horse, but this new site is frustrating in so many ways. I understand why there needed to be a change, but maybe this wasn't the best choice of web designs.
