    It's 3 ounces.

I'm also going for my first time, hope to not die.

Or Xata is coming back very soon, there's a few batches in fermenters now.

    Cheers,

Bummed. Had to do my second drain poor ever. 2014 BA smoking wood. I am not the best at describing off flavors, but it was almost sour. My wife described it as pickled. Oh well, opportunity to open something else instead. #firstworldproblems

Ok, tried the last two small batch bottles, B&B&R&V and BT w/ Vanilla:

B&B&R&V: Such an interesting and complex beer. The vanilla was a bit subdued, with the tart cherries being the most prominent additive on both the aroma and the flavor. Drinking absolutely great right now, but if you go in expected a ton of vanilla, you might end up being disappointed.

BT w/ Vanilla: Sadly, this was my only disappointment of the 6 bottles. Much more prominent vanilla on the aroma, there can be no mistaking that it's BT and that it has a bunch of vanilla beans. But then the taste is overtaken by how unbelievably hot it currently is; much hotter than I expect fresh BT to be. So unfortunately, there is a dilemma: deal with the heat and drink it now while the vanilla is still there, or cellar it and wait until the heat has died down, at which point it will mostly be a bottle of base BT. I'd recommend going with the former, but just be prepared for extreme booziness... To be clear, I'd say it's about a 4/5, so definitely not a bad beer by any means; I just wish it was more drinkable fresh.

And that's the six! I'd say Rasberry Kisses was the most interesting of the six, but Sangria Tuesday and B&B&R&V were my two favorites.

PSA: Terreux is doing a special on crowler fills today. Any 2 crowlers of terreux beers for $22, even including society beers available for crowler fills

What I usually do is go strong and get everything I REALLY want first, get a super buzz on. Then, I nosh on some lunch and kinda pick and choose what I want and let myself coast down to sobriety.

Is there another brewery in Southern California doing something similar to the Bruesicle?

Unless I misread earlier, "You Asked For It"/ Vanilla BT sounded like it was going to be for Reserve and Hoarders... Maybe Hoarders are just getting a sneak peak at these beers, and are already in the process of being brewed for everybody... and then when the peasant RS gets access, and Hoarders are saying "it's no fair it's not as exclusive as you said", the Bruery can say "we told you to drink fresh!"

    This is just a theory

Your theory might be right, but not with respect to YAFI: I believe someone figured out that that was going to be SHIT w/ vanilla, not BT w/ vanilla.

Based on the review posted here about bt w/vanilla, SHIT with vanilla might be the better option.

Or it might be a BT/SHIT blend like Marzi and OTWB were.

Pretty cool to see the owner mixing it up in the forums. Congrats on your success. Very excited to see some of the shift to more member beers this year and am really digging the society improvements. Really also excited to see where Offshoot goes.

That's tragic, I love that beer and would be devastated if this happened to me

I'm in the same boat. I've got one more bottle. Guess I should try to get to it.

Anyone have comments on the 'ship-ready' boxes the hoarder's small batch bottles came in? Wondering if I will be able to pick up next weekend and check on my flight home...

They are fine....I would suggest putting a bit of padding on the top, but otherwise they should be able to withstand being thrown onto conveyor belts without any issue.

I opened a Smoking Wood recently that had some tart notes to it as well. Also a drain pour. I’m not sure what year but it was the rye version. I never enjoyed this beer in the past so I just attributed it to being a shitty beer. I guess I’ll just present this as another data point. Once again, I’m nothing more than a statistic.

I opened a bottle of the infected batch of SHiT the other weekend and was pleasantly surprised to discover that the tartness in the beer (very much present) has developed very nicely indeed. That's probably not a shock since the beer likely got infected with the same souring bacteria that the Bruery otherwise uses to great effect.

I shared the bottle with a few guys who normally don't go beyond IPAs and a few of them even really enjoyed it. I'm glad I hung onto the bottle and didn't drain pour the thing before trying it. It wasn't the beer I initially thought, but it was very enjoyable!

Nice, I will be purchasing in either scenario.

In my first ~4 months of Reserve Society I have gone from gladly doming Day of the Week beers on weeknights, to, I'll still dome them if I'm watching a hockey game or something but you really need to drink some water if you want to be alright in the morning. I passed on SHIT w/coffee in DC cause it wasn't too fresh and I worry about that with coffee beers, but I'm going to be keeping an eye out if they expand that line, for sure. Or if they continue to bottle Weekday beers in 375, also good news.
