Hm. I definitely drank BTR last year (have my review from then!), but I guess it must’ve been at an aftershare. Thanks for thI correction!

According to the map, it looks like they moved the setup around this year.

I liked it all in alphabetical order last year. Made it easy to find everything without using the map.

Yup, and prior years it came out earlier. For example: The beer list email on April 27, 2016 for the festival on May 14th. true it was not complete, but was a nice teaser.

Personally, I would rather see an early release with a bunch of TBD's to be filled with later updates, then waiting until every slot is filled in.

I mean, you can pretty much expect everyone to line up outside Bottle Logic, Three Chiefs and Horus first. Personally, I’m going to hit booth 22 right away, don’t want to miss out. :stuck_out_tongue:

You can have my spot in both the Horus and Three Chiefs lines. Neither of their offerings will be worth a line as long as it’ll be.

I’m guessing it’s the ones with the asterisks? Could be wrong...

I'm guessing the breweries with the asterisks are Hoarders only? I hope not, i was excited for some Side Project and Jester King.

Yes. I would agree that it's a pretty boring list. Especially considering that Crumbfather and Mash and Maple Grind were Hoarder Box bottles we already got. Additionally, Mash and Maple Grind is currently in the TR and has been going a bit flat lately. However, VERY tasty. In the past, there have been a few things that were pretty awesome for Hoarders:

    - Special pours from Jester King for Hoarders only.
    - A special snack when we walked in the door. I think it was a cupcake.
    - A separate building for Hoarders with additional food buffet and pours to limit who could access the HS section.

The Heath Bar sounds pretty cool.

I know its not a big change per oz from bottles, but it gets harder to justify $12-$15/stout can when Modern Times is putting out superior canned stouts at $8/can. Although it is nice to have the option of single can vs. 4-pack with Modern Times.

Their canned stouts (Suggestion of Mass, Grim Tusk, Probability Engine etc.) were $32/4pack. Unbiased Opinion was $27/4pack

When are we gonna get some good Reserve allocations? Seeing these older beers re-introduced in cans isn't getting my wallet vibrating.

To be fair, I believe those MT cans weren't Barrel Aged.

My gripe with this, and I am going to avoid this thread for a while since I feel like I have become one of the biggest complainers-

is that if you are picking up in DC, if I "buy" these beers now, they take my money, then 3 weeks later they get to DC, maybe they tell me the beers are there maybe they don't (it's about 50/50 there is any notification that your beers have arrived) then when I roll up to the store... surprise surprise the beers I ordered, are available off the shelf (as you'd expect).

You don't get the beers early buying them like this, all you are doing is forking over your money early, and not only that, but normal stores who buy The Bruery from a wholesaler, have these beers on the shelf simultaneously with the ones I have ordered beers from CA, if not sooner.

This is a nice suite of beers for warm weather that I will acquire one way or another eventually, but it's another bunk month for RS.

I thought Geburtstagskranz was BA? So I was comparing it to MT's BA stouts at 16.25 for 12oz.

I was thinking bakery cans vs those non BA stouts that you mentioned.

Surprised that there is no Mousseux Naturel available for purchase and also not even on HS pours for Saturday either. Hopefully they will have some at the tasting room Monday.

I'm surprised (or maybe not) that they aren't pouring any BT or BT variants at the party this year. At 19-20%, maybe that's a good thing?

Do we know that? There's a booth with an asterisk for Side Project/Bruery... If the asterisk does end up meaning HS only, it'll probably be pouring there.

I'm hoping the asterisk is HS only, but I can see that being the case. Was looking forward to finally trying some Side Project.

Either way, looking forward to the festival and hopefully meeting a few of you on Saturday.

I’m hoping that the asterisk means that those are the booths that have HS pours, not solely HS exclusive for the entire booth.

It would be nice to finally get to try some Side Project, but at the end of the day there are so many amazing brewery options available that it’s nothing to throw a fit over.

The year is almost half way over and this is a pretty lackluster year thus far. Only 1 new hoarders small batch this year and that was not that great to begin with. Where are all the beers?

I'm basing this off the pour list the Bruery sent out earlier this week. Maybe there is a chance that it will be with the Side project pours but, seeing as it's a HS exclusive, I find it strange that they didn't advertise it with the rest of the Society Exclusive pour list.

Hoarder's Small Batch boxes always came at the end of the quarter last year. So March, June, September, and December is what I'm expecting again this year
