Thanks for pointing that out. I never noticed that. Anyone know if 2018 CCR was also finished in rye barrels or just 2019 (which I haven't opened yet!)?

I’m noticing my supply is getting a little low (I still have four bottles though), but they always seem to have extra, so I might buy another bottle or two if it goes on sale again... I have both BTGRs right now, so it’d be fun to do a side-by-side on all of them. I might wake up in a ditch the next morning, but it’d be worth it :joy:

2018 was bourbon and 2019 was rye. I thought the 2018 was good but 2019 was fantastic

This year’s Chocolate Rain is great!

If you’re in for a fun adventure, pour a shot of Skrewball PB Whiskey into it for a Nuclear Carbomb! Sooooo good! ☢️

Just opened a Gray Monday. Sooo smooth. The only heat I get is from the barrel. Grey Monday in the front with tons of hazelnut. Scotch in the back end, but not overly smoked.

As it went from fridge to room temp I get more pronounced scotch, but I don't mind it. It works well with the hazelnuts. This beer is awesome.

Barely getting around to opening Apple Falls Far. Sheeesh. Sweet and cinnamon covered apples. Curious if they were green or red apples. LOL

    Liberty Stoutwich is very tasty.

I never had PB Thursday (but I did have PBJ Thursday). This has a similar huge PB nose and strong PB flavor that doesn't overwhelm. I'm bad at picking up on vanilla, so will have to defer to other's taste.

The base BT batch isn't quite as mellow as we've been spoiled to expect recently, but it's not bad either.

The PB flavor is great. The taste/texture in your mouth afterward is similar to eating actual PB, which I'm not sure I'm into since I'm clearly not going to wash it down with a glass of milk. Not a dealbreaker, just something noticeably unique.

Love at midnight is very subtle when it's fridge cold. Let it warm.

The aroma is very good. Rich toffee, bourbon, and oak with sweet pineapple and vanilla.

The flavor is just ok. There is a good amount of pineapple, but it's definitely tempered by the coconut and the vanilla. What's weird is I would swear one sip would be stronger in pineapple, and the next vanilla, and the next coconut. The coconut makes it a fairly astringent in the middle. What I like the least is that it finishes with a strong lime flavor which clashes with the sweet bourbon.

I think I might have to pick up one of these to do a side-by-side. I haven’t opened an original in years but I’ve heard they’ve totally fallen off, hopefully the BA version has held up better.

BT box just now got delivered. I didn’t know they delivered on Saturday nights haha. Now I’m trying to decide which bottle to open. I’m thinking Sweet Magnolias.

Sweet Magnolias. I wasn’t feeling it at first when cold but once it warmed to room temp the flavors really came out. They nailed what they were going for.

So we have posts for Liberty, Midnight, and Magnolias... looks like it’s on me to open Piece!

Update: It was like Black Tuesday was sent to Heaven, Vermont, Heaven again and then back to Orange County. It was soft, smooth, very little booziness, and perfect sweetness. The pecans were subtle, but definitely amplified the Maple BT (I assume that was the base). It has the trademark thinner-than usual BT body, with a little bit of body added from the pecans and maple. Got even better as it warmed.

    Great start to the box...

I’m sitting on four bottles too. They seem to whip those out for sale when they want to see if my puppet strings still work. Yes, they still work!

Sounds great, I’m going to drink one tonight. I love Maple BT so I’m especially excited for this.

    Sweet Magnolias...

This is the one I was skeptical of because I really don't like banana flavor in anything. Thankfully, the banana flavor here is very subtle. Not my favorite variant, but I am enjoying. Actually, it's got a light creaminess to the body that I quite like and which I assume the banana is responsible for!

Forgot to mention: unlike Liberty, Magnolias is really nicely mellowed, which is another point in its favor.

Warning: lots of sludge came out when I poured the second half. So far though it doesn't seem to have changed my opinion.
