W/o a car, is this possible? Is it worth the 30 minute trip? Planning on visiting Brussels next summer, love De Cam, but will be limited on time and transportation.

Good question, with the Toer de Geuze coming up. ~30 minutes in a car but twice that by bus 141, according to De Lijn (Flemish regional transport). Maybe there's another stop that can be built in to beak it up.

It would be a haul and a good bit of time as the buses are infrequent. I don't know how much cash you'd be willing to spend getting there. I'd take the train to Halle and a cab out to Gooik. I've been there 3 times and though the Cafe next to DeCam is open there has never been anyone at DeCam itself.

I would highly recommend going to the Streek Producten Centrum in Halle. Close to the station. They are the 'local product center'. They will have all local beer including Lambic etc. Bottle baskets, glassware etc.
