Throw all the stones you want, but I had a wee can 'o this while playing bags at a friends Bday party last weekend and it was spot on for a Marg...don't know how they did it (don't want to know) but it was spot on.

It's not beer so don't worry about it.

I bought one for Cinco de Mayo for guests/to be ironic. It is many things, but it is not beer.

Interesting combination. Maybe I'll try it if it's under 2-3 bucks at a bar.

My wife was trying to convince me to buy her some of these today. The box indicates that this product is margarita flavored beer.

So I went into my work today and the Lime-a-Rita girls ( two porn star esque chicks ) representing Budweiser were giving out free cans of L-A-R. I will be doing my review in a few.

I tried this last night haha. It was a bit harsh and artificial, but I guess it was drinkable. Its 8% abv too...

Poor aroma, too sweet, and awful head. The Lime-a-Rita was pretty bad, too.

I've got a friend who is hooked on these things already. I tried about two swallows. Wasn't bad, but wasn't good. Certainly wouldn't buy any of it, but I knew that before I tried it. Not a big margarita fan in the first place, so it wasn't that much of a shock that margarita in a can wouldn't make me too happy.

No..more like.. pungent horseblanket aroma, a strong sourness that lingers on my palate and makes me pucker, and decent head.

I wonder how you categorize it, since it apparently does contain some BL Lime. Is it a beer flavored margarita or a margarita flavored beer? If this question is not answered, I will not sleep tonight.

I drank a few of these over the weekend, and they are definitely "drinkable". Keep in mind that I was out on a sand bar on the river and it was 90+ degrees outside. I dumped mine in a cup filled with ice, and in no way would I confuse this with a "beer". I couldn't start my day off drinking them, but after a handful of good beers and the heat catching up to me it was actually a nice change of pace.

I crushed a few last night and actually really enjoyed them. It just tastes like a pretty decent carbonated margarita, and I have a soft spot for margaritas. Much cheaper and less trouble than getting a bottle of Tequila and a mixer or doing them the right way. No discernable beer taste at all, so I could see why the Bros may not want it on the site. Looks like someone has had and reviewed the mojito one.

Worth trying for a margarita-flavored malt beverage (and comparing to Mike's Classic Margarita) though how they label it Bud Light when it's 330 calories per 12 oz is beyond me!

Haven't had it, but sells very well at my store, especially the 12 pack 8 oz's. It also comes in 24 oz cans.

I was offered one of these this past weekend at a BBQ. It's certainly not a beer and I can't say it was a good fascimile of a margarita either. Super sweet and limey...tastes like a margarita made with the cheapest of mixes. Yuck, thought it was foul and totally UNdrinkable. And I like (good) margaritas.

I tried one. To me it's a hybrid of Mike's Hard Lemonade and a bottom shelf margarita.

What a horrid taste in my mouth, luckily my gf and I made a drinking game for our 24oz cans. Watching Shark Tank and drinking when they say "dollars", "I'm Out!" or "money". SOOOOO DRUNK :slight_frown:

If you (a) pour it over ice and (b) drink it outside while it's hot as blazes it really isn't the worst thing in the world. Just don't look for any "beer" characteristics and you won't be (as) disappointed.

I thought it would just be a margarita taste, not a beer. I bought this with two sixers of local craft beers. If its worth any points, I told the guy at the counter that I was embarrassed to be buying it and to hurry and get it in a brown paper bag. haha

pacifico, cuervo, and a shot of lime juice in a tulip glass with a salted rim?
  35. creez

    creez Initiate (0) Mar 9, 2012 California

    Here's the recipe:

Add 3 bottles of Pacifico (or your favorite Mexican beer, I prefer Pacifico with tequila) to a pitcher
Add 1 12oz. can frozen Limeade
Fill empty limeade can with Jose Cuervo Gold half-way to full (depending on desired strength) and add to pitcher
    Salt glass rims & pour

Cheap, easy & perfect for hot days at the beach or pool! I've done variations with fresh sqeezed lime juice and other tequilas & beers, but I find this recipe never fails.

Last night I had one of these out of a tall can and it was.... drinkable. Ridiculously artificial in flavor with no nuances of beer, lime, or margarita, but drinkable.

Reminded me of L&P Soda I drank as a kid in New Zealand.
