Can it be bought with any consistency in VT not at cannery?
short answer is no
should be easier to find at stores in northern vt once their capacity increased beginning in february. the accounts that typically get it, should get more of it.
Any place close to Stratton? Dover/Willmington area?
No way Jose.
But try Apre Vous in Wilmington. Best beer bar in the area by far.
Deliver to Montpelier on Friday mornings to two diff stores. Limit of 2 four packs at each.
Where do they deliver in Montpelier besides the Co-op?
I have attempted to get it atleast 10x going thru Vt over the last yr and a half without success... have to be there on Tues or Fri depending on which way the delivery goes. I believe it is south Tues and North Fri. I may be wrong but if you call a couple stores according tho the availablility on the gooogle maps they can give you details when they get it in.
It's Wednesdays in the Burlington area. around noon at Healthy Living. about the same at Winooski Beverage Mart and Beverage Store in Richmond.
I believe it used to be Fridays up here.
Its available in the Mad River Valley at the Warren Store, East Warren Community Market, Mehuron's, and The Waitsfield Wine shop, for a few hours on Fridays.
I'm planning on being in VT on Sunday early morning to early afternoon, any thoughts on where my best bet for Heady might be or am I SOL?
SOL most likely
I wish just available throughout New England, currently in north JERSEY, but don't mind making fun day trip
to grab great beer, hike, etc.
I'm ashamed, bought a 4 pack off of ebay and it was delicious.
Thanks, same for HF and Lawson's bottles?
Lawson's Paradise ale hasn't been moving quickly at all. I believe today's delivery was Paradise and Chinookered.
Had zero trouble finding HT in Woodstock and Rutland last summer, but I can see that the distribution list seems to have grown considerably smaller since. Ah, gotta love supply and demand!
Ok. Thanks for all the info. So is the statement that pretty much if you're in VT on Sundays, there's no HT, HF, or Lawsons to be found (I've heard really bad things about Paradise Ale) accurate?
My wife is heading up to Burlington tomorrow morning (Friday). It looks like she might be SOL ehh?
Follow the Twitter feed, they post when it's sold out.
You might be in decent shape. Sold out on Saturday last week with the increased capacity...
I plan to be up in Waterbury VT this thursday by like 11AM for the start of a long ski weekend. I'm assuming I wont have any trouble getting me a four pack? Anyone know how early you can buy cans at the brewery on Thursday?
Will do, thanks. From making a few calls, all the distributors in the Burlington area are already sold out from yesterday's shipment. I may need to convince her to go out of her way a bit and visit the brewery.
They open at 11am. I just called and you should be just fine getting as much as you want on Thursday from the brewery.
Awesome! thank you very much for the info!
The only worry I have next week is that Portsmouth Breweries Royal IMPY stout goes on tap while I'm gone and I miss it. If someone can somehow bottle that if it does and save it for me I'd gladly trade them a heady 4 pack for it. Obviously I need someone Boston based for in person exchange. But I'm pretty sure RIStout wont be available at all for take home.
Just got the following text from my friend after I told him I was heading thru Waterbury this sat:
"I have not been to the Mecca known as hill farmstead yet. I plan on going in late summer.
Re heady, good luck. From what I read, they can on Mondays and either Wednesdays or Thursdays and they are sold out usually a day later! I don't know if they will have it on Saturday. What day are you coming back? Might work out better to try that day."
I was just going to hit the alchemist on Saturday on the way up and then head back on weds and pass thru Hill Farmstead. Is it likely heady would not be there at its own cannery on Sat?.??
Highly doubt Heady will be there on Saturday. Last week they sold out at ~2pm on Friday and this week, with Biere de Norma being released at HF I assume it'll be gone even sooner
I wouldn't depend on it being around saturday, more often than not, it isn't.
Heady is now available at the Village Market in Waterbury too. It looks like distribution is slowly beginning to expand.
My guess is that it'll be gone Thursday since so many people are coming up early for Norma and Lawson's Market
