A friend of mine gave this to me he says that he has had it for over 30 years and he got it here in the great lakes area.
I was hoping that someone out there has seen something like this before or knows what it is. I'm thinking that it is an emblem for a wooden beer crate, possibly Pabst.
Its in great shape, I think its made out of pewter, about 5 inches wide, and there are 3 short pegs/posts on the back.
and it reads "a premium beer at a popular price"

Certainly sounds like a Pabst slogan from the 60's, "A premium beer at a popular price".
Not sure what this is though.

"Finally Pabst ads hit advertising paydirt by proclaiming that Pabst Blue Ribbon was "The
Premium Beer at a Popular Price." This helped Pabst ride high in the 1960s booming beer
market. By 1961, Pabst was smashing company sales records."
